@Kevin ORourke Yes, incredible! And meanwhile, I am: - practicing 4 times 20 minutes a week - reading The Talent Code (after reading: the inner game..., with winning in mind and champ paradox) - Doing the affirmations And yet, I’m currently experiencing a setback in my shooting accuracy. It makes me wonder: why am I doing all of this? 😝

I really love the vids about the mental side. But the video about using a magnet helped me a lot. Physically, I don’t actually need a magnet, but for me it really helps with my routine. It slows everything down and helps me concentrate. Also, since I started using a magnet, I put the boules I’m not playing with on the ground. This way, I have the same balance every time I throw a boule, instead of carrying an extra 700 or 1,400 grams on my balance arm. I also throw fewer junk boules. It kind of feels like a shame to put two boules on the ground just to pick them up with the magnet and then throw them away carelessly. Every boule matters more during training now!

The inner Game of Tennis for Petanque
I have just finished uploading a FULL 43 minute review of this book for my YouTube members only and I'm uploading it in full here so you can see the value I hope to bring in the future to the Premium members of this community. In addition for anyone who wants to try the premium membership you can access a 7 day trial to watch the recordings of the Zoom trainings we held for Steve's book. This is better if you have a copy as it will make more sense and you can buy a copy at this link https://link.amazon/B0brJobUN

Great book review and a superb recommendation! I also really enjoyed the stories about players like Henri Lacroix and how they illustrate these themes at a match! I recently finished reading Winning in Mind, which @Kevin ORourke recommended to me in Aubenas. I found it to be a great follow-up to The Inner Game of Tennis. The Inner Game of Tennis really helped me understand the difference between Self 1 and Self 2. Winning in Mind takes that a step further, giving you even more practical tools and insights to help you perform at your best. By the way, I had zero problems reading both books in “pétanque language”! 😄 Thanks again for the great recommendation, Kevin. The Talent Code will arrive tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to getting started on that one too!
Naughty tactics or clever strategy - What do you think.
I filmed this great game which is worth watching in full……but there was some controversy at the end. It starts at 59:00 I didn’t realise one vital aspect and it’s made me ponder if this was a tactical delay with ignorance of the rules and confusion or a master stroke in delay and coche placement post clarification. Drop your thoughts below and if you have a spare hour to watch the game what you thought of the decisions made. It was fascinating to see the Thai and Madagascar teams in action and some of the good and bad tactical choices made by other teams. https://youtu.be/GWeWwuNBlpE?is=0NyIEka5JjRrrEIW

I THINK this was mainly stalling. Usually, you see teams quickly agree among themselves, saying “let’s do A or B,” and then just move on. How hard can it be? Knowing that this are timed games, I wouldn’t be happy if an opponent did this. Maybe you can ask Ricky someday ;)
