@Caleb Wilson well in my case I don't think courses would help until I have less on my plate draining my energy... Just trying to keep food on the table and a roof overhead takes everything I have right now...

@Marcus Frakes thats the thing, the only time I have is between 5 am and 7 am when other people in the house are still sleeping. The acoustics in this residence are absurd, so much so that the slightest noise carries. I know because I've tried practicing with headphones and I still end up waking people.

@Caleb Wilson I'd love that! Also CCLI is the organization that handles North American Licensing for Christian Music. Can't remember exactly what CCLI is short for though at the moment... it's 06:06hrs here so still crazy early.

@Nathaniel Gill thank you so much for this. That's actually part of my problem... recordings... All i have access to is the "studio" versions which all have way more complex basslines than what we generally use at worship. It's been a bear for me to try and slim down the bassline knowing full well I am leaving stuff out. Maybe it's my ADD/ADHD but my brain keeps trying to fill in the missing parts and I have to work extra hard mentally to remember to stick to the roots so I don't "overpower" the rest of the worship team. If that makes any sense...

@Fitz Jones I can see how one could take it as such; however, The Bible advocates for functioning in society through diligent work, respectful submission to authority, loving service to others, and maintaining personal integrity. It emphasizes earning one’s own living to be self-reliant, contributing to the common good, and living quietly while promoting peace within the community. I see being prepared for the worst as falling under portions of all these .

Upgrading simple bass lines
This lesson was inspired by @Roy Houston who mentioned about memorising more complex lines and getting away from just root notes. I guess this is part one of the answer to that question to cover any holes in bass line creation and give you some simple structures to add some flavour to simple songs pt2 will deal with more ideas and strategy for song learning and memorisation. What are your approaches to this?

love the running with the kick idea. It really does add a different flavor to things. I do have to ask though, when going with the kick, should one be on the kick? or just before or after? I had a bit of trouble hearing the kick in the backing track due to my speaker quality...
