USA TikTok Ban - What did you learn?
I have been using TikTok for 3 years - with about 30k followers on a few accounts. TikTok is the easiest platform to get people to take action fast, especially if you go live. Before January 19th, 2025 (the day TikTok was banned), we were advised to shift to Lemon8 and I did. Infact they integrated TikTok with Lemon8 for those in the USA. When the TikTok blackout happened, I checked Lemon8, it was gone too! Then today I noticed, CapCut too! Lessons for me: 1- Never depend on just one platform - I already knew that that's why I have a YouTube channel, Instagram etc although I am not active on all at the same time. E-mail is a must, for the long-term. 2- Save your work, at least re-purpose your videos. When the ban happened,TikTok was giving us the option to download our content but I think it's better to keep the process of saving your content on-going because one time my TikTok account was hacked and I lost 37k followers , and all the videos in one day! 3- Please LEARN! We have to keep learning and trying out new apps, platforms so that we don't depend on just what we already know. You could even find a better one as you keep learning! 4- NEVER GIVE UP! Even if TikTok didn't come back, we still don't stop, we start creating new content and remind ourselves, WHY we do what we do. Do you use TikTok? Even if you don't, what lessons did you learn because this could happen on any platform you are on!
