📦 A scheduling lesson that doesn't get talked about enough...
A notary completed our signing on time, but had another appointment afterward that ran longer than expected. By the time she finished, she let us know she would no longer be able to make the FedEx cutoff. The challenge wasn't the signing itself. The challenge was scheduling so tightly that there was no room for delays. As we all know, signings don't always go as planned. Borrowers have questions, traffic happens, documents need attention, and appointments can run over. When accepting multiple appointments in a day, are you building enough buffer time between them?

Well, I rather be a little late for the next appointment and drop off the documents to be delivered next day…
My new website is live, and I want your honest feedback
Hey NBG family 👋 I wanted to share something with you before anyone else. After months of work, I just launched the new website for my signing service: www.theclosingsigningservice.com I'm sharing it because I know many of you are building your own notary businesses and I get how it feels to sit down and think "how do I want the world to see me?" If you visit it, I'd love to hear your thoughts. What you liked, what caught your eye, what you'd do differently. And if any of you are stuck on your own website or branding, drop a comment below and let's figure it out together.

It looks great. Very professional!!!
We asked a notary to bring a witness, paid extra for it and it was not provided. 🧐
Everything seemed fine… until we reviewed the documents • The witness was the signer’s granddaughter • The witness we paid for was not used • And we were not informed at all We only found out when we checked the docs When we followed up, the response was: “She insisted on signing” Let’s pause there… If we specifically provided and paid for a witness, and something changes, that needs to be communicated immediately Not after the fact Situations like this aren’t just about the document, they affect: Compliance and Trust A quick message before proceeding could have avoided all of this What would you have done in that moment? 👀

I would have used my witness and explain the signer that a relative can’t be the witness.

We had a signing where the title company requested a change in location We understand, that can be frustrating. But here’s what happened: ❌ The notary replied directly to the client ❌ The tone was not professional ❌ And we weren’t given the chance to step in and handle it The reality is: 👉 We were already working on a solution 👉 We would have adjusted compensation due to the change But the response was immediate, and it escalated the situation Important reminder: If something changes or doesn’t feel right, always go through the signing service first 👉 We’re the ones who communicate with title 👉 We’re here to support you 👉 And we help protect those relationships And just as important, how we communicate matters 👉 How would you have handled this situation? 👀
