I hope everyone has had a wonderful week and are looking forward to a fun weekend! I had to put my focus on my 9 to 5 today and was not able to enjoy being on Skool a whole lot. I am looking forward to being able to put some work in tomorrow on getting a few things off the check list! One of the projects I am over seeing is a database that tracks various data involving maltreatment in congregate care settings. This has been a project of passion! It is my hope that the data we are gathering will lead to better outcomes for our youth in foster care that end up needing higher level placement. this marks a little over 3 years since I first created the database as a practicum project. It has sense been adopted as our official system used. It was built all in Excel and uses our network. Tomorrow I look forward to being on Skool more and for our live session if anyone would like to join. It would be great to get to know anyone that is available for the group session!

1. GOAL (Pathway Focus) I still need to finish my goal to upload my about page video. I have worked on Substack today more and responded to everyone. I was able to upload my first video on YouTube for lesson 1! I should have time tomorrow to do the about video. 2. WHY IT MATTERS (Agency Focus) These goals are important to me as they are the next steps to start making this community great! I am pleased with the progress so far and ready to keep growing. 3. CURRENT STATUS (Reality Check) I am happy with my progress but will need to be more intentional with setting time aside. I had a full day today again, but I was able to still respond to all notifications. I always like to do my best to get back to any notification within 24 hours. I will be able to set aside more time tomorrow and will have even more Monday. 4. ACTION PLAN (Steps / Pathways) 1) focus on the about page intro video, 2) Start Lesson 2's course and eventually video! 3) I will be providing feedback to a couple people whom asked for it as well! 5. ACCOUNTABILITY ASK (Community Engagement) I feel I am making progress, but please keep checking in if you ever see a slack in momentum! Lets hold each other to our own success! 6. REFLECTION (End of Week) As I reflect on the week I feel I have had some good wins! I look forward to keeping this momentum and going into next week full force! For those whom know, I am a Government employee for the state of Oklahoma. The shutdown has somewhat affected my employment, but not drastically. I am blessed to be a state employee, so while I must take a few furlough hours a pay period to stretch the budget until things open back, I am still able to continue serving in my position. My win I wish to share is that I have been granted the opportunity to work on the executive team of my dear friends company. This speaks volumes to the importance in networking! My friend and I have always been huge supports to each other and share a common vision. I now get to fulfill something that has been on my heart for years and that is to make steps toward establishing a good group home for our highest risk/needs youth. I can get on quite the soap box when it comes to congregate care and the fact that it is a double edged sword of sorts. Despite how much I hate seeing kids placed in these settings, I have come to accept it is a near necessary evil so to speak. Our vision is to help make ours stand out by truly focusing on rehabilitation and not status quo. Kiddos need to discharge to lesser restrictive placement as timely as possible, or there exists a much higher risk of becoming institutionalized. I look forward to serving in both of these roles and building this community more! Blessed for the opportunity to further serve within my state, community, and help families.

My thoughts on what builds a strong community is for everyone involved to feel heard, welcome, wanted, and appreciated. I am actively working on finishing the courses. I have just decided to make the group public. I am working on getting this community on other platforms, but Skool will be where I hope to do the most work. Videos are on the way where I will be walking through each course. I thought this would be a good post to pin/edit as time goes on. I want everyone to comment something they would like to see from this community. How can I best assist you? What questions do you have? What do you love? What do you want changed?
