📅 New week, blank page, share your goal! 🖋️
What are you going to write this week? How many scenes/pages/plans? I’m going to finish the first vomit/riot half of my new play. What about you? Happy writing! Mark 😀

Planning on working through the 7 day challenge this week! I would also like to have a look back at a play that I haven't edited since 6th March 2024. I think there's about 20 pages so hopefully 17 year old me wrote something worth keeping!
10 Things I’ll State About Me
Hi all! I’ve taken a couple of days to think about the questions but I am now ready to introduce myself! 1. What’s your name? Rosie or Rosie Mu depending on who you ask. Mu (Myou, not Moo) is my middle name but I think it goes nicely with Rosie and lots of my family use it. It’s also makes my name stand out which I have a bit of a reputation of doing. 2. Where are you from? Welwyn Garden City although my dad is for Cornwall and I spend so much time there that it feels like home. In September, I’m moving there for 3 years and I have never been so excited! Both Hertfordshire and Cornwall have their pros and cons but I love them both. 3. Why do you write/want to write? I’m sure this is a common answer but I write to tell stories that haven’t been told before or to retell stories in a new light. I am also passionate about making sure each character’s perspective is listened to which doesn’t always happen in real life and I think the person consuming the story needs can’t make a fair judgement on a character before you know more about them, similar to how you can’t judge a person you don’t know (most of the time, anyway!) 4. What’s your favourite story? A bit of a rogue one (it’s not Rogue One) but I absolutely love the 2024 film We Live In Time, written by Nick Payne. Whenever I watch or read anything that has a heart wrenching story with glimmers of comedy or lightheartedness, I immediately fall in love with it. I am a lover of sad films but We Live In Time is more than a sad film, it is told in such a beautiful way that is constantly making the audience think about what they would do if they were in a similar situation. I am also a huge fan of non-chronology (as long as it is made clear) and We Live In Time is a fantastic example of this. 5. Who is your favourite fictional character? Potentially a basic answer but Jo March from Little Women. This probably comes from an obsession I had with her when I was younger (I was convinced I was her) but I love how many layers her character has. She appears strong and confident but has such a sensitive heart and is still working out who she is. I think all the March sisters are so beautifully written and the many actors that have portrayed them on both stage and screen have each brought something new to the characters which is the sign of a well written story.

@Mark O Sullivan thank you! I remember that an ITV drama was being filmed here but I never found out what it was so now I finally know!! That's really cool about Nick Payne too - I bet it's a great feeling when you have been a part of someone's education that is now doing incredible things! I will be at the social tomorrow :)
