Rooted, Not Potted A potted plant looks healthy… until the pressure comes. Its roots can only grow as far as the container allows. Many men live the same way. They look strong on the outside, but they’ve confined themselves to the small containers of comfort, convenience, fear, or routine. A rooted man is different. His roots have broken beyond the limits. They run deep into Christ. When storms come, he doesn’t panic. When drought comes, he doesn’t quit. When the winds of life blow, he stands. “Rooted and built up in Him…” — Colossians 2:7 Men, don’t settle for being well-decorated. Be well-rooted. The kingdom doesn’t need impressive men. It needs immovable men. As this week comes to an end, ask yourself: Am I planted… or am I just portable? Because what’s rooted will still be standing long after what’s merely potted has been moved.
