Seven Days of Small Joy
Hi Everyone 👋 Day 2: Your Brain Is Doing Its Best Our brains evolved to spot the tiger, not the sunset. Useful once. Now the tigers are emails and headlines, and the news at ten feeding us the negatives, the wars, the suffering, and the poor old brain is still at it....scanning for threat, cataloguing what's wrong, missing what's good. That's not you being negative. That's wiring. But it does mean joy doesn't happen by accident. You have to turn towards it on purpose. When something good happens, small, ordinary, don't let it slide past. Let it land. Twenty seconds. Feel it. That's the difference between something happening and something registering. The bad stuff will find us all by itself. The good stuff needs a bit of help. Today: find one good thing and stay with it for twenty seconds. Don't rush off to the next thing. Just stay. Take real time to enjoy the good things in your life, focus on them, feel the joy and what that feeling brings to your heart. With Love ❤️ Always Mark

Enjoying an uncluttered desk which is a small joy because it will only last for about 20 minutes.

Question for community: What is one thing that helps you remain non-reactive for 3 minutes when your peace is threatened? Malcom Gladwell makes a strong case for finding the peace bubble as a preventive response to expressive violence that results in what he calls the American way of killing.
The sound of crickets (and what no one tells you about the grind)
Hi Everyone 👋 This post is for all the community owners out there that have reached out to me ...... We all feel it. The drive to win. To be the community. To hit the highest numbers, the biggest revenue month, the most engaged members. Push. Push. Push. You post. You show up. You strategise. You pour your heart into every thread, every live call, every welcome DM. And sometimes?.....Nothing. Just crickets. No replies. No likes. No "thank you." Just the strange, hollow silence that makes you wonder....Is anyone even here? Here's what they don't tell you about the endless chase for more members, more visibility, more income... It can get really, really lonely. Because when your self-worth gets tangled up in engagement metrics, an empty thread feels like a verdict. When every post becomes a performance, the silence starts to sound like failure. But here's the truth I keep coming back to, and I'm sharing it with you with a lot of love ❤️ You are not the sound of crickets. You are not your reply rate. You are not your monthly recurring revenue. The drive to achieve isn't wrong, it's human. But when that drive outruns your sense of connection, it stops fueling you and starts draining you. So here's my gentle invitation, from one builder to another.... What if we measured success a little differently today? What if one reply, real, honest, human, mattered more than a hundred silent views? What if the goal wasn't just to grow, but to matter to the people already here? You're not alone in the silence. We've all heard it. And maybe, just maybe, that's the place where we stop pushing so hard… and start actually hearing each other. Drop a 🙌 if you've ever felt the crickets. And if you have a quiet thread right now that needs some love, drop the link below. Let's break the silence, together 😊 With Love ❤️ Always Mark

As I age, I hear the crickets chattering louder around me. I still don't understand them, but I believe we are connected already and part of my "push" in old age is to hear them and wonder about how we are connected, what I still have to offer to the world we both belong to and what they have for me. I bet some crickets are pretty interesting fellows when you get to know them. They may even have something for me to do, or something to teach me. Thank God for the crickets.

and our own value to a world so big that it has room for crickets and understands their language.
