@Den Lennie Thanks for sharing your goals with us for the year regarding the Youtube channel. It's a great example of opening up yourself to be accountable to others which is an important part of being in any kind of coaching group. I'll have to think about ways I can do that with my network of creatives so that I can keep myself more accountable as well. I'm finding that although my January is not full of shoots, it is in fact full of meetings. This has been helpful to forecast projects and cash flow into Feb-April a little more accurately than last year. So much of this is seasonal and contextual to the niche you're focusing on. I know a lot of my clients are planning around budgets that were approved at the end of the year last year. Rather than letting them to come me sporadically throughout the year, I am trying to encourage my clients to talk about their whole year video plans in these initial January meetings.

Den, thanks for offering some excellent advice. I know my situation is kind of unique, but I’m hoping folks here can still get some value out of this conversation. I for sure did! Thanks again for doing these calls for the free group.

Hey Den, I've been eagerly awaiting the next Video Surgery. In the meantime, I've been going back to my business development roots and aggressively emailing old contacts from my previous agency. I've booked 5 meetings this week and 2 next week. It's really nice to see that the old school methods of reaching out and catching up with old friends still works. I think where I excel in outbound marketing, I definitely fall short in inbound strategies. I think that's something I've gotta work on. But so far, I'm seeing more meetings = more proposals = hopefully some more projects. A lot of my clients are non-profits and now is the time where they are budgeting for next year. So I'm super eager to see what happens in the next two months...
Referrals on the phone vs email.
#3.3 - Proven sales script for re-engaging clients Den, this is really great and I'm happy (and relieved!) that the script is very close to how I've organically spoken to clients and prospects in the past. For me personally, I feel like I would love to spend all day on the phone catching up with folks and talk about their organizations/business. It's something that comes natural to me. However, what I haven't really figured out yet is a natural way to ask for referrals when I'm speaking to them. People usually can't think fast when I make the ask for 2-3 relevant connections... Any advice on whether the referral ask should happen on the phone vs email?

@Den Lennie This verbiage is genius. So simple and makes so much sense. I will look into adding this into my invoices.
