A little about myself: I am a professional luthier (builder of stringed instruments), a skilled artisan in an ancient craft dating back to 2500 BCE, with the Lyre and harp as the precursors to the stringed instruments we know today. The course: The program consists of three (3) separate course levels. Entry, Intermediate, and Advanced. It is designed around the premise that you will open your own guitar setup and repair business from your home or a small brick-and-mortar location within your community. The entry-level course consists of twenty-four weekly, two-hour live lessons. Twenty-four step-by-step video tutorials of the covered topics in the live lessons. A mid-term evaluation test after the twelfth week, and a final test at the end of the course. You must have passed the final test to be admitted into the intermediate course, and so on for the advanced classes. The entry-level course topics cover how to perform a basic setup on an acoustic, electric, or bass guitar to improve your customers' playability, eliminate buzzing, and set string height. How to tune and intonate the guitar, how to diagnose electrical issues, and perform the most common repairs that will begin to earn you an income, and how to begin your guitar repair business while in this course.
