@Brad Weyant Will do thanks
How do you manage conflict?
When tension shows up and when things don’t go the way you expected… What do you naturally do? (Your quick reaction response to conflict) 1. Positive Outlook → Avoid the negativity, reframe it, keep things light 2. Competency → Focuses on logic, efficiency, and solving the problem. 3. Reactive → Emotionally expressive, seeking validation for their feelings. Most of us think we use all three, but there’s usually one we default to. Which one is yours? 1, 2, or 3
How do you manage conflict?
I see growth all over this question. Younger years I would of said 3 hands down, but 1 is my answer now.
@Brad Weyant it's a lean toward default now, I still catch myself sometimes, but I believe that's the growth being able to recognize it
Thinker, Doer, or Relater?
Most of us lean relater? Thinkers stay in their head processing, analyzing, trying to get it right Doers move fast taking action, solving, pushing things forward Relaters focus on people connection, harmony, how everyone feels None of these are wrong. But most of us overuse one and underuse the others. That’s usually where things get stuck. Thinkers don’t move Doers don’t slow down Relaters avoid tension Just notice your default today. Where do you naturally go? And what’s the part you tend to avoid?
Relater, Thinker, Doer
When things are out of your control
Pondering this yesterday when I was basically trapped for 4 hours. I was in a situation where I was asked to help, told to wait, and wait, and wait, all for their benefit. Finally they told me I could leave. "The owner said you may leave now" Like the King had released me of my court jester role. I went through, ok I'll be patient and wait, to impatient, to ok now we are moving, to waiting, to now being angry, to putting down my ultimatum, to then being invited in, to then seeing the disaster they were dealing with and why I was asked to wait, watching 20 people have a conversation that no one would solve. At some point just giving up on wanting to do things my way and just going with the flow. Lets say that took hours based on how I was being moved around. That giving up released the tensions and allowed me to re-adjust my day. I see any moment in life to be a time to practice and inquire deeper into the situation. Sometimes it is easy, sometimes it is more challenging like this siutation that is mostly out of my control and I was being left in the dark. What’s your go-to when things feel out of control?
Brad, I relate this to our experience yesterday in the canoe with the gators you have to stay focused and determined when you let the outside world in that’s when you lose the control.
Which one are you?
Everyone has a default way they show up. These are not right or wrong, just patterns to notice. 1. The Perfectionist– holds high standards, wants things done the right way 2. The Helper – supports everyone, can overextend themselves 3. The Achiever – driven by results, success, and getting things done 4. The Individualist – wants meaning in the work, not just output 5. The Investigator – thinks deeply, analyzes, can get stuck in the head 6. The Loyalist – plans ahead, looks for risks, prepares for what could go wrong 7. The Enthusiast – chases ideas, keeps things moving, avoids feeling stuck 8. The Challenger – takes control, direct, pushes things forward 9. The Peacemaker – keeps things smooth, avoids conflict, goes with the flow Most people have one that runs the show… especially under pressure. And it shapes: - how you make decisions - how you lead your team - where things get stuck Which one do you see in yourself right now? Or maybe your top 2-3
Which one are you?
I would say six the the loyalist then to the helper and finally three the achiever. But I can also see parts of the others
