@Gareth Parkes Gareth — I just went down the rabbit hole on those birds. Wild stuff. That Crowned (Hawk-)Eagle is no joke. Seeing one in the flesh had to feel heavy in a good way — like the woods got real for a minute. And that Woodland Kingfisher… we’ve got kingfishers here, but they don’t light up like that. Whole different kind of color. Woolly-necked Stork is straight-up elegant, Hammerkop looks like it rolled in with a built-in haircut, and the Bittern/Glossy Ibis combo is right in my lane — we’ve got bitterns in the swamps here too, but that glossy ibis is just plain pretty. If you had to call one “best sighting” from that stretch, which one are you putting on top? Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.
