Cannabis reclassification, let’s let’s talk about it
A lot of people are celebrating cannabis reclassification as a big win, but I’m not convinced and I want to hear where you stand. The messaging around “patients” and “compassion” sounds nice, but when you follow the money, it tells a very different story. Reclassification seems to benefit big pharma and alcohol giants far more than patients, small businesses, or legacy operators. Instead of freeing the plant, it risks tightening control; more regulation, more patents, more corporate gatekeeping. History shows us that when big money steps in, community voices get pushed out. That’s why I keep coming back to this question: Is reclassification progress… or just another step toward corporate capture? And if we agree it’s not enough, what does real reform actually look like? Declassification? Legalization? Different federal frameworks? Stronger protections for patients and small operators? I’m here to listen. Drop your thoughts, experiences, and concerns below. This plant has always been shaped by community, and that’s how it should stay ✊🌱
