I’ve grown my automotive brand to over 1 million followers, landed dream brand deals, and have been building cars and creating content full-time for over 5 years now. Still feels crazy to say that. The top photo is me in 2019 with a hand-me-down 1999 Nissan Altima that I shared with my sister… Motivated… but broke. Just starting my automotive YouTube channel with no clarity, no plan, and no idea how it was going to go. The bottom photo is me a few years later after buying my dream car, a Ford Focus RS, passing 100,000+ YouTube subscribers, quitting my dead-end job, and working full-time as an automotive creator making 6 figures from car content. Life is wild. 21-year-old me would’ve never imagined this… I truly love where I’m at, but lately I’ve been seeing so many automotive creators exactly where I once was, broke, overwhelmed, no real guidance on how to grow or make money from this business model; while watching others succeed with zero transparency. And if there’s one thing I hate… it’s gatekeeping. What’s up fam! I wanted come here and check back with an update on how the “consistent content” is going. This has been a true learning experience and I have nothing but good things to say. Hopefully this will motivate and inspire you to keep grinding! TikTok: CarCousinDerrick I’ve been able to grow to 1k followers posting once everyday starting back in September! I hit 1k followers on Jan 1st! I immediately implemented learning from other creators and seeing what worked. I also kept a log for every small or big wins to keep me motivated. I’ve made video series, I reply to every comment, and learned what works and doesn’t. The right structure of “photos” does wonders! I started by copying videos that performed well and that had a nice effect. But for the last 1-2 months I’ve been posting from creator insights! BIG DIFFERENCE! Most of my videos now see more than 1000 views! Creator Search Insights helps with what to post and even if it seems cringe or not what you want…ITS WHAT THE ALGORITHM WANTS lol I use the “Content Gap” section. If nothing in that section is what I have content for then I’ll go to the “All” section and look for upward trends with 1000🔼 next to it or I’ll record more content! I also take advantage of trends that are growing. I’m working to start monetizing my content and continue to improve my videos and hooks.
