BRIEF ROOM: TRAILER NIGHT
We’re opening up the first Brief Room session. This one is focused on trailer music. Wednesday, April 15th @ 7pm - 8:30pm (Link coming soon) This is where your ability to read direction, respond to it, and deliver with intent gets tested in real time. We listen together, break it down, and react through one lens: Does it serve the brief, while still making it yours. GUEST HOST We’re welcoming our first guest host, trailer composer @Brandon Lau whose work includes Scream, Destiny 2, and Arcane, along with campaigns for titles like League of Legends and Call of Duty. He’ll be running the session alongside PTN's @Nate Michalic and @Gilde Flores , listening, giving feedback, and breaking down what’s working, what’s not, and how to push it further. This is direct insight from someone actively creating at a high level in this space. WHAT WE’RE LISTENING FOR StructureHooksExecution within the genre If it hits, we elevate it.If it misses, we fix it. If you’re into trailer music, or want to sharpen your approach, this is where you do it. Submit your work. Show up. Be in the room. You don’t know where this leads. INSTRUCTIONS TO DOWNLOAD + STEP IN Download the attached briefs. Pick your lane and commit. This is where you read direction, respond, and deliver. NO REFERENCES PROVIDED Part of this process is learning how to find your own direction. In the real world, some briefs come with references, and some don’t. This is one of those moments where you get to develop that skill. If you need guidance, take the time to explore what fits. Listen, study, and understand why something works. If you already have a clear instinct, trust it and build from there. Either way, the goal is the same, create something that serves the brief with intention. Have at it!!!! SUBMIT briefroom@paintthenoise.com Taking submissions up until - Tuesday, April 14th, cutoff at 7pm CST -

📺 PTN Insider Reports — Weekly Posts
The industry doesn’t hand out blueprints. We do. Most creators waste years trying to figure out how the industry works. Staying ahead is how I was able to get through the mess/noise others created.. or I "allowed" because I was not informed... So I had this mindset to get the right insights before everyone else. That’s what this is. Starting this week, we’re dropping something new inside the community: I’ll be dropping weekly reports inside this community that give you an inside look at what’s actually working in visual media music right now, straight from the --- 📺 The PTN Insider Report. --- Real case studies. Real projects. Real strategy. These aren’t hypotheticals. Each report gives you a direct look into how the music business actually functions for creators in visual media, covering deal structures, scoring workflows, licensing frameworks, publishing and rights management, creative career pathways, industry shifts, and simplified breakdowns of complex legal or business models that impact how creators earn, grow, and sustain momentum. - This is just the framework that these will touch on, to at least bring you, creators, the "awareness" lens. Each report follows a set rhythm -not just what’s happening, but how to interpret it. That’s why we built a full report skeleton to give structure. Here’s what to expect each week: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Every Weekly- PTN INSIDER REPORT - follows this Exact process: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • 📍 CONTEXT / INDUSTRY SHIFT - What’s changing right now and why it matters to you • 📂 CASE FOCUS / BREAKDOWN– We focus on something in the industry and break it down • ✅ TAKEAWAYS / ACTION STEPS - What you should be doing now to grow and position yourself • 🔬 PTN Lens - How we at PTN interpret this shift (simple, visual, or editorial POV) • 🔍 FINAL REFLECTION / CREATOR LENS - What this means for creators like us/ the mindset

Nice
March 2026( What's one goal you want to accomplish?)
I’m a big list-maker—it helps me stay focused when I can write things down, organize them, and check them off. I also tend to overdo it and create huge lists of everything I want to accomplish in a month and feel overwhelmed sometimes. I once heard: we often overestimate what we can do in a month and underestimate what we can do in a year. So this March, I’m narrowing my focus to one pivotal goal that will directly support my growth as a composer. My one thing:Learning and mixing in Dolby Atmos. By the end of the month, I want to have studied it and successfully mixed my first piece. What’s your one thing this month?

I need to get better at that myself. Keep a checklist and being able to check off things that are completed.

Greetings
Hello everyone. I’m Rob and I create Pop/ R&B/ Hip Hop instrumentals. I am learning to critique my production for tv, film, trailers, gaming etc. I joined this community for just that reason. I’ve created music for a very long time freelance and self taught for the most part. But 2026 is the year for me to face my fears and see where my work really stands in the real world. I am so thankful to have found and be accepted into a community like this and am ready to go. I wish to level up in production structure and scoring. I’m all ears. Childlike and willing to learn.
