Digital Desktop Nomad
Any of the research I have conducted thus far on being a digital nomad revolves around traveling to Thailand and starting an online business as a web designer and getting work online. I am currently working in Desktop Support (on Site) I have about 1 years experience of Desk-side Support, I am currently researching how I can work remotely full time and do this in another country. I have been looking at jobs in Prague and Malta, these places seem to have lots positions and I know it would be a good stepping stone to making the big move to Asia. I am wondering what is the current position with moving to Thailand and getting such a position, from what I have been reading getting a position in a Thai Company may be difficult so I am thinking I may have to find work in another country. I want to stick to finding one company I can work for, the grind of finding new work on Upwork etc is not for me. Can anyone offer any advice going forward for me in the next year or two with making the move from Morally Bankrupt Ireland to freedom in Asia.

@Simon Orgulan I would love to have the Money to Move to Thailand and sit on a beach for the rest of my life, but my current existence in my "Semi State" job which i might add is the polar opposite of Toxic in fact compared to say my previous position at AWS which was a swamp of toxicity, I have not experienced any toxic people except the one Woke Socialist who is always trying to Gas Light me. But my life there in Desktop Support is soul destroying I have to go in early before everyone else to try grab some tickets otherwise I will spend my day staring out a window at the Ferry Traffic at the local ports for 6 hours of my 8 hour day. Hoping I can make it to the 2 year probationary period so I can be released from the office and spend those 6 hours watching Netflix. Everyone close to me think I am mad to leave such a "Chusty Number" but I think I am better kept busy. I can only tolerate this for another 18 months and I have to go. I may build up a ramp of maybe 25K and go sit on the Mountain in Chang Mai for a year then I could go back and do another 2 years. I want a Job at Space X I want to be a part of something real

Spain might be a good place to start its in the same time zone as Ireland so finding a remote job might be easier. Also you could potentially get a job in Spain as it's in the Eu, the wages might be less but the Rent is much less than Ireland
Where are the upcoming nomad hotspots?
In a constant quest for the next Chiang Mai—I'm reaching out for your collective wisdom on some undiscovered locations. Where are the upcoming nomad hotspots that offer that perfect blend of culture, connectivity, and cost of living? I'm especially keen on places off the beaten track, the ones not yet splashed across every digital nomad blog. For instance, in my recent chat with @Sam Bindloss, Bansko in Bulgaria came up as a potential hotspot. Have you encountered any such hidden treasures during your travels?

A Graduate in Despair
I just graduated last September with a degree in Networking Technologies and have been looking for work for the past two months I have applied for 32 Jobs and got one phone call so far, disappointing to say the least, I paid for a professional CV service, I live in Dublin Ireland, luckily I live in a council house and my rent is 22 euro per week but its a crack infested s**t hole and my plan for going to college was to buy my own house preferably with less crack heads in my vicinity, I have been watching Bret Dev videos for the past 3 years and the one called "Escape the Matrix" was my favorite. I have saved up 1500 euro my flights to Chang Mai are 700 euro last time I checked, I know a ramp of 700 euro is not a good starting point, I suppose my ask is giving that I am a graduate with maybe 6 months of experience in POS Support, is it possible to get a start working remotely and how much of a ramp would I actually need, I will live like a local while I am there in a 50 euro a month gaff is there is such a thing over there I will eat noodles and drink water until I get a job, a side note I lived on noodles for my first three weeks when I moved to Pittsburgh when I was in my 20's, give it to me straight what is the bare minimum I need to escape the matrix per month, I would give it 6 months and if I don't find a job I will return to the crack getto

@Nathan Von Fumetti I'm not your bro if you where you would have my back, you sound like you are operating on a low frequency, you made some assumptions about my work-placement let me give you some context, I was on a mandatory work-placement it was not my choice to work there and it was not my chosen field. I cycle and don't have a car and the company required I have a car of my own at my expense, they wanted to pay me 28k, the car would have cost my 8k leaving me on minimum wage for a year, not what I want especially having done a degree. Anyway its clear you have no sympathy for my position in life that does not mean everyone on here operates at a low frequency. I I never suggested I was going to Thailand with 1500 euros, I just mentioned that is what I have already and what is the bare minimum I would for 6 months that number is certainly not 12k to 15k or anywhere near it, sure I can live in Ireland on 12K per year and have done so for the past years of college and still am able to save some money. I suppose 12 to 15k is a good number if you visit lady-boys every night, presently company excluded of course! I watched a video Bret Dev posted a while ago that 700 dollars was the minimum, it seems right the smart thing to do would be to purchase an open return ticket that meant that you could return at a couple of days notice of the s**t hit the fan. One of the biggest costs on the list in the video was a motor bike for 3000 bait I suppose I could cut that one out and cycle around as I do already I'm quite fit and can cover 100km per day if needed, maybe less in the heat. I could use mobile broadband instead of a dedicated line, wash my boxers in the bathroom sink and eat in 5 nights a week. I don't need to live like a king for 6 months just like a prince. Remember I'm not your bro I would not associate myself with a character like yourself!

@Clive Kingshott Thanks for your kind words Clive I think your right maybe a discovery trip to Chang Mai would be better than right out moving there right away. I have longed for a better life and I feel a nomad life in Chang Mai would be the crowning achievement in my life, I have been just a bit off lately having been in the trenches with my college buddies for the past four years and now the translation to working life and the complexities of the recruitment process around IT roles.
€280 a night for a hotel room in Dublin 🤯
I just got off a call with my sister. She, my mum, and a mate went to a concert in Dublin last night. Sounds like a laugh, right? Until she tells me their hotel room cost €280. For one night. I couldn't believe it. You know what's mad? You could rent a hotel for an entire month for that price here in Thailand. How long can this go on for? You're getting fleeced every day in the West, and for what? What's the most outrageous expense you've encountered recently?

All the hotels are full in Ireland with Ukrainian refugees so the price is high there's no spare accommodation with 100,000 on the council waiting list in Dublin alone, Neo-Liberalism run riot in Ireland, I can't wait to finish college next year and escape this Hamster Wheel.

All emigrants are welcome in Ireland we need a better system in place for home building and accommodation centered around the individual not the cuckoo funds
