Next Seminar Is For
............ I'm thinking of having my next seminar. There's so many areas that we as a community can target but I'd like to target people that do not have a group. Why? I think group owners have a motivated mindset of growing their group or to monetize, even if it's a hobby. Or, It might spur them to start a Skool group. Or, make them feel they do have something to contribute. Either way, I'd like to encourage non-skool owners /skool account holders to chime in our next seminar. But how DO I reach out? I like to suggest collaborators in this community to reach out to their members if they would be interested. What's your thought's on this? Here's a few topics to start with but I'm open to others. - Preserving food that your grandma does - Mushroom growing experience as a newbie - Faults encountered raising chickens for first time

@Auli Takala & @Jason Hagelberg yes I meant the same... "people who have skool account and are just members without running own community"!

Time Stamp On ZOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM
In our last seminar, we recorded on zoom. When we wanted to do time stamp in our conversations, there's an error / mix up between recorded time and local registered time. Let me explain a bit more................. When we start the vid recording, the time starts counting 1,2,3,4,5,6....... So, let's say the first speaker starts at 11 mins. The recording time in our location is 3 pm. So, our time stamp is 3.11 Does anyone know how to resolve this within Zoom? We want the time stamp to show 11 mins not 3.11!

Recordings Available
Hello everyone, we did our New Season Collaboration seminar last week and the recordings are available. Here's a quick summary & takeaways from the 3 speakers.... “Introduction to Urban Permaculture Gardening” 🔑 Key Points 1. Start small and design gardens around available time, energy, and resources. 2. Core permaculture ethics: earth care, people care, and fair share. 3. Promote closed-loop systems where outputs (e.g., chicken manure) become new inputs. 4. Observe and plan before planting: assess microclimates, sun exposure, and water movement. 5. Celebrate small wins; gardening is a mindful, joyful process, not just food production. “Designing Your Homestead Food System (PERMA‑Garden Concept)” 🔑 Key Points 1. “Perma-Garden” = Permanent garden blocks integrating perennials, annuals, and permaculture design for efficiency. 2. Use digital tools like SmartDraw, suncalc.org and Google Earth for planning layout and sun patterns. 3. Organize material storage using “Home Depot-style” depots with labeled aisles and racks. 4. Implement long-term phased master planning (3–5 years) instead of doing everything at once. 5. Integrate income strategies like open farm days, market gardens, and educational spaces. “Composting Systems and Living Soil” 🔑 Key Points 1. Composting is a guided biological process of decay that feeds soil organisms, not plants directly. 2. Three compost types: static, thermophilic, and vermicomposting; thermophilic requires active heat and turning. 3. Maintain a C:N ratio around 30:1 and pile temperature between 131–150°F (55–65°C) for pathogen control. 4. Compost needs oxygen, moisture, and structure—avoid anaerobic (sour) piles. 5. Vermicompost and partially decomposed compost are valuable as top-dress “living sponges.”

@Lara Sloan There are many but one that strikes the most is pre-announcement period. Give time and build anticipation. One does not need to have all the perfect information in-place before announcing, but I would also have backup plans.
Welcome to Summitters. 🎉
We're so glad you're here — and we mean that in the most non-generic way possible. This community exists because we believe the fastest way to grow is to grow together. Summits, bundles, podcast collabs, guest speaker swaps, joint events. This space was created for a simple reason: 👉 Event hosts need great collaborators 👉 Collaborators need the right stages If it's a we thing, this is the place for it. You just joined a community of hosts, speakers, creators, and collaborators who are done doing it alone — and ready to build something bigger together. Here's what to do right now: 1️⃣Introduce yourself - In the comments below, tell us: - Your name and what you do - Who you serve - One fun fact about you (we like knowing you're a human) After you introduce yourself, please scroll through the other introductions and add a comment to someone you have something in common with or would like to know more about. 😊 2️⃣Check the Start Here module -In the classroom section, you'll find everything you need to get the most out of this community, how the directories work, how to get listed, and how to find your first collab opportunity fast. Who you'll find here: 🎤 Summit hosts looking for aligned speakers 🎙️ Speakers looking for stages and visibility 🎁 Bundle organizers looking for contributors 🎧 Podcast hosts looking for great guests 🏘️ Community owners looking for guest speakers 🤝 Collaborators looking for their next we thing If that's you, YAY you belong here. . Now go introduce yourself. — Lara & Jason 👉A quick note This isn’t a “drop your link and disappear” kind of space. It’s a relationship-first community - the best opportunities come from real connection and collaboration. We’re excited to have you here. Jump in, say hi, and start connecting ✨
