The #1 reason traders blow up isn't bad strategy — it's quitting their job too early
Everyone in trading says the same thing: quit your job, go all in, commit fully. That advice has destroyed more trading careers than any bad setup ever has. I started trading in 1999. I didn't go full-time until the end of 2007. Eight years. Most people would call that slow. I call it the reason I'm still here. Here's the truth nobody wants to hear: when your rent depends on your P&L, every losing trade becomes an emotional emergency. You revenge trade. You over-size. You abandon the system. Not because you're a bad trader — because you're a broke trader. The money pressure kills the psychology before the strategy has time to work. That's why I built the Double Dip framework. Keep your job. Build your trading account. Two income streams running in parallel. One funds your life. One builds your future. Your job isn't the enemy — it's the factory that funds the operation. The math backs it up. A $25K account growing even 3% per month becomes ~$36K in a year when you're not pulling from it to pay bills. Full-time traders can't do that. They're withdrawing to survive. The working trader who treats profits as sacred capital compounds at a rate most full-timers can't match during the learning phase. I just published the full framework — the schedule, the setups, the account-building math, the exact checklist I used before I walked away from employment income for good. This is everything I wish someone had handed me in 2001. 👉 Read it here: https://www.bullsonwallstreet.com/post/how-to-day-trade-while-working-full-time

This is so accurate - when i first Started trading i was so excited about doing it full time…as I’ve continued to grow i am going to keep working my job for the long run. Build up both sides and keep all external pressure off my trading

Execution and Discipline Stats - Post Florida Trip w/ Kunal
The trip to Florida to visit and trade with @Kunal Desai really opened my eyes to a lot of the smaller details in trading. I was always so focused on PNL to the point where if I wasn't making huge trades I didn't feel like I was progressing. I feel like the biggest thing I learned from my time with him was trading is all about Risk Management and Discipline. He is always saying that trading is 90% preparation/study time and 10% execution. Still have plenty of room to grow but I feel like it is starting to come together and can feel legitimate growth happening. I have been going in pretty deep with ChatGPT this month, building scoring metrics in key areas that will help me become a consistent profitable trader. I started a challenge for myself on February 6th and have seen and felt tremendous growth since beginning. The picture attached is my scorecard and primary focus of the grading scale for each area of emphasis. Routine for logging and tracking data: 1) Trade the Open - 930 to 11 2) After each trade - I journal my emotional status during the trade 3) If time limit or PT is hit, I drop my order history into ChatGPT 4) Provide summary of my journal (emotions, triggers, reactions, revenge, etc.) into ChatGPT 5) Close my laptop - Mission complete for the day It has really helped my mindset...even in small things like which range of stock price I trade the best, I always thought I traded small / mid-caps the best, but my stats are actually much more favorable on larger caps. Data like that led me to adjust my watchlist and my winning percentage has continued to increase while risk is being reduced significantly.

WULF Trade - 6 Beers in ORB
If you squint juuuuuuust enough, you can see an ORB there. She aint the prettiest thing in the world but was able to start my day off well!! Target was initially the previous day low but i started feeling like i had overstayed my welcome with this Short so I got out a little earlier, didnt want to hold through the pump back up into the Bone Zone - rather lock my profits in and start the day green and get on the board.
