I had recorded a video and I hope it comes through and that it helps.
What is the First Word You Ever Learned in Another Language?
What was the first word you ever learned in another language? Don't hold back now 🤭 My first Spanish word was HOY. For real. I was 18, just arrived to live in Mexico with my older sister. Taking our first walk around Cancun, we came to a cinema billboard that said "HOY: (then the names of whatever movies were featured) We wondered aloud "Hey - what do you think HOY means?" And yup, we pronounced it WITH the "h" sound! My first Italian word was cazz* hahaha, a word I came to learn has sooooo many uses (IYKYK!) Let's hear YOUR first foray into foreign language...

Well, I have been learning some Spanish since I was little, but not much. I actually haven't gotten very serious as much until this past year. I have learned Spanish from neighbors, good and close friends, coworkers, etc. But now I have been watching some videos, learning from different apps, etc. Anyhow, my first word... I honestly don't think I remember, but I think I first learned "como estas" or, more formal, "como esta usted". (How are you) I also had learned something from an old Deacon from my church back when I was little. He told me that I would want to learn the most important words in Spanish... "Donde esta el bano" (where is the bathroom?) 😆😆 That actually had me laughing and I didn't disagree. That was definitely a phrase one would definitely want to learn to avoid trouble! LOL

Hello! My name is Robert B. I go by the name Robert or Bob. I live in Fox Lake, Illinois. I speak fluent in English. My Spanish is at a high beginner level close to intermediate. I'm learning more Spanish to be able to communicate and socialize better with my coworkers, good and close friends, some neighbors, etc. I would like to be able to listen better and understand more. I also would like to be able to use it with my side business and help expand the Hispanic community. I would also like to sharpen my mind and I'm good where I like to learn. So, I have multiple reasons. My other goals are to maybe learn French, Gaelic, maybe Ukraine, etc. Granted, I really don't know too many people who speak French and probably hardly any that I know, but I like the language. I'm Irish and would like to maybe someday travel to Ireland. But I would like to learn the Irish language. But time will tell with multiple languages. My main goal is to continue studying and finish Spanish before anything else. Otherwise, I'm going to greatly confuse myself! LOL

Thank you, Carolina! I appreciate that. For now, I will focus on improving and mastering Spanish. I was thinking about furthering with Russian, French, and starting Gaelic, but I'll work with one at a time as a couple of my friends would tell me I would just confuse myself otherwise. LOL I would also like to learn more as to help some of my good friends who have also been teaching me Spanish. I would help them learn English better, also, as they would like to learn. Also, it would be good for me to better understand and communicate as to translate back and forth.
