Beloved ones, let us sit together with the story of Kisa Gotami and the mustard seed — one of the most tender and profound teachings from the Buddha’s life. Kisa Gotami was a young mother whose only treasure was her child. When her son died in her arms, grief consumed her. She wandered from house to house, carrying his body, begging for medicine. No one could help — until someone sent her to the Buddha. She laid her child at his feet and pleaded: “Master, please bring him back.” The Buddha, with infinite compassion, said: “Yes, I will give you medicine. But first, bring me a mustard seed from a house where no one has ever died.” She ran with hope. Mustard seeds were everywhere — but in every home she entered, death had already come. A father, a daughter, a grandparent. Again and again, she heard the same story. By evening, her despair transformed into understanding: death touches every family. No house, no life, is free from change. She returned to the Buddha and bowed: “I understand now. All that is born must pass.” 🌿 This is the essence of impermanence — anicca. When we resist it, we suffer. When we embrace it, our hearts open with compassion and love. Vipassana meditation is born from this truth. Sitting in silence, watching the breath, we see: everything arises and passes. No pain lasts forever, no joy can be clung to. Awareness alone is eternal. 💝 Beloved Sangha, this is why I am offering Vipassana Meditation as a gift for all of you. It is the foundation of Buddha’s awakening, and it belongs to everyone.
