While grinding on the CM version, I have also been working on playing the basic melody. This is sections A and A' (which is 3/4 of the song). I think it might be an octave too low, though. I need to experiment with moving it up. As always, feedback and comment are appreciated 🙏

The second in the "sleeping dog sessions"... A while back I wanted to focus on improv over a Bb blues progression (a short form and in memory). My goal was to develop a palette of reusable approaches I could combine (ideally in real-time) for simple, target-based improv. As I was working on this, @Coach Gabriel Sebrian gave three valuable improv workshops (visual pathways, chromatic approach Bb Blues, and the connector method). I practiced and integrated them into an improv exercise using the different targeting approaches. After quite some time, I still struggle even at this slow pace to not get lost (I do here the fourth time through) while trying to avoid repeating approaches. Overall, I have mixed feelings about the return on investment and whether this was the most effective/efficient approach. As I have played this so many, many times, it is also starting to feel canned or pre-baked: certain patterns or lines have formed that I have locked onto. TLDR; looking for some feedback, ideas and directions I can go. What say ye, JGA?

Here's a post of a Bb jazz blues improv. I'm not really happy with this, but want to post. Chad tired. Chad got 5 hrs sleep last night. Chad brain no workie well right now. I've really been working very hard on the neighboring tone and chromatic improv. @Coach Gabriel Sebrian challenged me to play very slow, and most importantly, play what I 'feel'. Think of something, then play it. I'm actually very happy with where this is going, but it just doesn't show in this post. When I play without a pulse, I can play so much better. It's just not coming through with the pulse right now... but I feel it's right around the corner! Hopefully so. (Maybe I'll also post something without a post soon.) https://youtu.be/QYjAQp81-WI
