Where Do You Stand With Headlight Restoration?
I want to ask you something important. For me, headlight restoration is not a side hustle. It’s not “extra cash.”It’s not something I do cheap just to get jobs. Headlight restoration is a business. I operate as professionally as possible. I charge premium rates. I position myself as an expert. My customers see me as the authority — and because of that, I’m able to maximize what I earn from every service. That didn’t happen by accident. It’s intentional. Now I’m curious… What is headlight restoration to YOU? - A side hustle? - A stepping stone to something bigger? - A full-time business? - Just testing the waters? - A way to make quick cash? - A future brand? There’s no wrong answer here. I genuinely want to know where everyone stands. Drop a comment and be honest. Your mindset around this will determine how far you go with it. Let’s talk 👇

For me, rock chip repairs are my primary service and headlights are my secondary service.
WEBSITE???
I do not have a website for my business and I believe it is a necessity. If you have one, can you please list it here so .... 1. I can check it out for ideas of what I want in mine. 2. Others may do the same thing .... Thank You- 🙏🏼

Water/rain exposure with stay clear
I know the rule of thumb is generally 24 hours for washing it after restoration but I have a job Saturday and we’re getting rain in our area. The client has a garage that I’ll be doing the restoration in but do I need to tell them not to drive the vehicle until it stops raining? Or does the 24 hour rule only apply to washing? I know I butchered what I was trying to say but any advice is appreciated!

@Matt Edwards, if your primary restoration method is stay clear, it may be worth getting a UV light to cure the stay clear before leaving. This way the stay clear is fully cured before you leave the job site. These lights are from deltakits.com but I’m sure you can source something similar from Amazon.

@Matt Edwards tbh im not sure, but I would assume just a few minutes would do the trick.
Stop selling a service. Start selling a problem solved.
Most customers don’t wake up thinking,“I need headlight restoration.” They’re thinking:• “I hate driving at night.”• “These headlights look awful.”• “I can’t see well in the rain.” So don’t lead with sandpaper, coatings, or steps. Lead with visibility, safety, and confidence behind the wheel. When you show a before/after, say something like: “Same car. Same angle. Night driving fixed.” People don’t pay for polishing plastic. They pay to see better! If you build your messaging around that, and stay consistent, your work will speak loudly! Looking good is important ... Seeing better matters. It can even save a life! Let’s get some ...
