Hire a Cold Caller?
Hey team, Curious if anyone here have hired a cold caller? If so where would you go about looking to hire one? Any tips you can share? Thanks P.S. never hired a cold caller, what am I looking, KPI, etc. ?

In my humble opinion, hiring a Virtual Assistant to represent your brand on the phones is a daunting task. Look past raw activity. Upwork and Fiverr is a good place to start, and you have to speak to them. We won't ever know what it's like to work with someone, until we work with them. You may go through several until you find the right one. These are 5 KPI common KPI and ask the VA to provide their track record and references. 1. Connect-to-Conversation Ratio (Data Health) It doesn’t matter if they make 500 dials if 490 go to a dead-end IVR or a disconnected line. This KPI measures the quality of the lead list and the VA's timing. - The Goal: You want to see a 15–20% connection rate. - The Insight: If this is low, your data is "decayed" or your VA is calling at the wrong time of day. In 2026, if you aren't hitting mobile-verified numbers, you're just burning money. 2. Average Meaningful Call Duration I don't care about "Average Handle Time" (which includes the dead air of dialing). I want to know how long they stay on the line once a human picks up. - The Goal: A successful cold call in this landscape should average 4–6 minutes. - The Insight: If calls are under 2 minutes, your VA is getting "blown off" or their opening hook is weak. If they’re over 10 minutes without a booking, they’re likely "over-talking" and losing control of the pitch. 3. Objection-to-Pivot Rate This is a "seasoned veteran" metric. I want to see how many times a "No" or a "We already have a vendor" was successfully pivoted into a discovery question. - The Goal: A 30% success rate in navigating the first two objections. - The Insight: This separates a "script-reader" from a "closer." It tells me if the VA is actually listening or just waiting for their turn to speak. 4. Meeting-Booked / Sales Qualified Lead (SQL) Rate This is the "Bottom Line" metric. Out of the people they actually spoke to, how many moved to the next stage of the funnel? - The Goal: In B2B, a 2–5% conversion rate from dial-to-meeting is the industry gold standard for 2026. - The Insight: If the VA has high talk time but zero bookings, they are likely too "friendly" and not "assertive" enough to ask for the calendar invite.

@David Lugo I don't believe that for this business model it is necessary. That would be like saying, I'm going to hit the gym three times a week. Now I have to find someone that can go for me. You have to get the reps in doing the activities. Whatever those entail for how you want to implement GHL. What may work for some of us, won't necessarily work for all of us. Our individual markets will determine what does or doesn't. We all will hear or read No more times than we'd like to. That simply gets us to a yes sooner. Mindset is 85% of anything we do, while the other 15% is the doing (setting up client account). Focus on the mindset and approach it all with an attitude of gratitude. I can recommend dozens upon dozens of books. It's all theories and concepts. You simply have to apply them to the best of your ability. VERY IMPORTANT, keep two running journals of daily activities. Good old fashion, pen to paper. No mobile device or Google Sheets. When it flows from your heart to the paper it becomes part of you. Start one each day, date the top of the page, without even thinking what you'll write. Simply write what's on your mind. Then set it aside. Visit again at the end of your day and write whatever is on your mind and set aside. The other same deal, date the top of the page. Now draw a line vertically down the middle. Mark one column Wins and the other Lessons (not ever loses). Go about your day. You'll end up with more Lessons than Wins. This journal becomes your personal GPS to your journey. Review it at the end of the day. You'll learn quickly, at least you should, from the lessons. Godspeed to your continued success. Details matter, every step forward is progress.
