I just found it.
A look into my life
I feel compelled to share something about my life so I'll try. I was medically retired from the U.S Army in 2007 after 18 years of service. Three tours to Iraq and one to Somalia, Africa in 1993. I faught in each tour, as a medic I had two enemies, the other man and death that came for my brothers. If not for the love of God, my loving and patient wife and traditional archery, I would have ended the pain. Because of these three, loving God back, looking for honest ways to SHOW my wife that I love, respect and appreciate her and focusing on shooting my bows has over time shifted my looking at my past to getting better and seeking better and higher ways to improve the three loves of my life. God, Tonya my wife and all things traditional archery. Thank you for building this community. Much love for you all.

Correct, conserve fighting strength was my cause. I was in B Co 4th BN 31st INF 10th Mountain Light Infantry. Best and worse time of my life.

@Nicholas Loumos I appreciate that, thank you. I try to be open with my past now just for that reason, someone may need to hear that there is always hope.
Bowhunting Tradition Connecting to the Ethical Predator
This was supposed to a Throwback Thursday post yesterday and yes this is a few years old now and yes a bit grainy but it makes a point I get questions on. The "process" upon which you walk connecting to the Hunter in you is ultimately an individual path to find. 🏹 It cannot be found in manufactured sold bits of sanitized & packaged technological methods. It is raw and often fraught with failure teaching one to persevere in the face of said failure. Find your own path in the wilderness hunting the silent way. 🦌

Hey, thanks for getting what traditional archery means to me. Not many people in my circle see it the way I do. Most just treat it like a fun sport, which is cool. But for me, it's way deeper - almost like a spiritual connection to something ancient. Really appreciate you understanding that.

@Grant Richardson what can I, a simple tech challenged guy, help share our thoughts and love of the lifestyle? As a side note, I hope to travel to Canada someday.
👋 Hey Guys!...Let's Take The Time To Introduce Ourselves...
My name is Jenn Richardson, my husband, Grant Richardson and I created this group, TradBowhunter - Ethical Predator. We are from Ontario, Canada, I have had a love for the outdoors since I was little. My grandfather being a conservation officer in the United States and my other grandfather a trapper here in Ontario. I have been in Law Enforcement for over 26yrs, love the outdoors, marketing and business so decided to put all three together! This is a passion piece for Grant and I...My hubby being the subject matter expert with Traditional Bowhunting as well as an author, podcast host and 3rd generation traditional bowhunter. We wanted to bring like minded people together and create a place to share their experiences with traditional bowhunting. ----------------- Hey folks! Grant Richardson here - about myself... I was raised in a hunting family. I have Bowhunted with traditional gear all my life and started shooting bows when I was 3. I've been able to hunt all over North America and along the way this past 40 plus years hunting with trad gear I have learned that success is born not from tech or the latest camo but from long cold days in the woods and often- failure. Bows and arrows were always a part of my life and I was lucky to have an upbringing that emphasized time in the woods. I was able to see both the rise of Bowhunting in Ontario and the laws and regulations based on ethics & conservation formed- But - also to see them fall apart to an Industry that focused on the latest and newest tech or gadgets to bring wild game home and not the skillsets I was raised to respect and follow. The very fabric of those primitive weapon/Bowhunting seasons was based on the fact that it was harder to take game with a bow and arrow- simply that it was difficult- but there is the truth that many forgot or perhaps never learned. The Ethical Predator was created from those lessons learned all my life. I helped create this community seeing a need to bring folks from all over the world into a community that supported the old ways, from scouting, tracking & the heritage of Bowhunting I grew up with.

I can't remember if I introduced myself so here I am.I'm from West Virginia and the co-founder of a youth ministry called New Way Archery, finding a new path through life. I also have Vertical Archery Academy. I offer basic archery classes for kids and adults who want to start their journey in archery but have nobody to teach them. It's all free. Where I live there aren't many "stick and string" people so I decided to create a way to raise interest.
