Growing up, I constantly heard: “I don’t have money.” To me, that meant I needed to be less. ⛔ Less needy. ⛔ Less expressive. ⛔ Less of a burden. So I learned to shrink myself. 🤐 I stopped asking. 🤥 Stopped needing. 😑 Stopped expecting support. I thought I was being independent, but that independence was built on a foundation of fear. I made myself invisible in order to feel safe and easy to love. That pattern followed me into adulthood—and into my finances. 👎🏾 I settled for less. 👎🏾 Was too afraid to ask. 👎🏾 Struggled to receive. 👎🏾 Felt guilt around wanting more. Because deep down, money wasn’t just money. It was tied to safety, worth, and whether my needs mattered. Success and financial abundance meant standing out and being seen. That felt traumatic! Many of our financial struggles are rooted in beliefs formed long before we earned our first income💰. They stay with us until we change, not how much we earn, but our relationship with self and how we see ourselves around money 🤯. 🍀 If this resonates, it may be time to heal the root!
