I am sitting here in awe, grateful that I am 55 today. I praise God for allowing me to see this day. There was a time when I never thought I would make it to 25, let alone 55. My story is long, but it is filled with gratitude. Every year on my birthday, I reflect on the two times I attempted suicide—once when I was six months pregnant. Because of that, I do not just celebrate my birthday I honor it, again and again. What makes today even more special is that I share my birthday with my daughter-in-love, who is married to my son the very son I was carrying during that difficult time.

Today is my 10th Dr. Anniversary! I know it’s not a real thing… but it’s MY thing. 😄 10 years ago today, I successfully defended my dissertation and became Dr. Juanita. I was so nervous. The journey was LONG. But every time someone asked me about it, I told them the same thing: “I am going to successfully defend my dissertation.” I didn’t say “I hope.” I didn’t say “I’ll try.” I said I am. That’s the same energy I want for you inside this community. Whatever God put in your heart to do in your business — speak it like it’s already done. Write the vision. Make it plain.
