My name is Reo and I’m based in London, though I travel back and forth between Japan and the UK a lot for work. I only started playing three weeks ago (so very absolute beginner here), just strumming and learning basic chords off YouTube. I want to be a singer-songwriter, so what I want to get out of this community is the ability to improvise freely from existing chord patterns/songs, rather than just playing them exactly as written. So i'm very keen to learn necessary music theory, get inspiration from the creative folks here, and perhaps take monthly 1-1 lessons with Jaco to get to know the instrument and music more deeply. My favourite artists include Paramore, Laura Marling, Johnny Flynn, Avril Lavigne, Moby, and The Cranberries (to name just a few!). Paramore, Laura Marling, Avril Lavigne definitely have a special place in my heart as I grew up with their music - they’ve been there for every stage of my life.
