Welcome to the Haven Initiative, Garden Keepers!
We’re thrilled to have you join us in this vibrant community under the TIAG (The Independent American Gardener) umbrella. Here, you’ll connect with others who share your passion for permaculture, sustainable living, and the mission to create self-sufficient, resilient communities. Our collective goal is simple yet powerful: to plant a food forest in every yard and place a mentor in every home. Together, we’re laying the foundation for a brighter, more sustainable future. What is the Haven Initiative? The Haven Initiative is a key component of the TIAG community, designed to empower individuals and families to achieve true self-sufficiency through the principles of permaculture. The initiative focuses on helping members master the 4 Pillars of Self-Sufficiency: Water, Food, Shelter, and Surplus. By participating in the Haven Initiative, you’re not just learning about sustainable living—you’re actively applying these principles to create a thriving, resilient lifestyle for yourself and your community. The Role of the Haven Initiative in TIAG: - Education and Empowerment: The Haven Initiative provides you with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to implement permaculture principles in your own life. Whether you’re transforming a small urban lot or managing a larger homestead, the resources available through the initiative will guide you every step of the way. - Community Connection: As part of the Haven Initiative, you’ll connect with like-minded individuals who are on the same journey toward self-sufficiency. This community is here to support, inspire, and learn from one another, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. - Real-World Application: The Haven Initiative is all about taking action. Through hands-on projects, workshops, and collaborative efforts, you’ll move beyond theory and into practical application. Every garden you plant, every system you design, brings you closer to a sustainable lifestyle and contributes to the greater mission of TIAG.

I love the TIAG community. I'm a TIAG Ambassador, here to help answer your questions! I am currently working at establishing a business space in Trenton MO. I have a space I'd like to purchase with 2.5 acreas that I'm hoping will come available soon. My greatest challenge right now is that I have been sent on a traveling journey the past 7 months to teach and feed people physically and spiritually. It's been a great learning experience and lots of fun reconnecting with old friends and new ones. Nevertheless, quite different for me to not have my own home.
