Guided Meditation: Increasing Your Concentration
We focused on concentration and single-pointedness — the antidote to the scattered, fragmented attention that short-form content creates. This is foundational work. What we practiced: - Alternate nostril breathing to settle the nervous system - Body scanning to drop out of the head and into felt experience - Grounding awareness at the base of the body (root chakra) — your anchor for safety and stability - Resting the mind into the body, the body into the earth Key concepts: - Single-pointedness — training attention to stay, not wander - Non-meditation (Tibetan Buddhist tradition) — the art of easing up after focused effort, which is often when flow states emerge - Thinking during meditation is normal — noticing thought and returning without judgment is the practice, not a failure - Bodhicitta — wishing well for others as a way to break the self-referential loop of meditating only for yourself Take it off the cushion: Maintain awareness of your body's aliveness throughout the day. That's where this becomes real. Coming up: In-person retreats in Austin — donation-based, open to all — covering concentration and non-dual meditation.

My meditation today was a bit difficult to do because my mind was somewhere else
Why I feel sad
I had a great morning but now it feel like everything is failing. Like I just talk with guys and now I feel like to stop talking to all of them because the way I am feel like I will never be good enough for someone to love me because the way i am. I feel like i will be alone and no body will understand me. I just open the window a little it cold to change my mind and it help a bit but I still feel stuck that I am not good enough.

The Foundation Most People Skip
Stabilize First: Why Concentration Comes Before Everything Most people try to go straight into insight, visualization, or more advanced practices. But their attention isn’t stable. So nothing really lands. — If you can’t stabilize your attention, everything else stays inconsistent. That’s the foundation. — A simple way to understand your practice: Center of gravity — where you are right now Trailing edge — what’s already stable Leading edge — what you’re growing into If you don’t know these, you’re guessing. If you do, you can actually train. — At the beginning, it’s fine to explore. Different teachers. Different methods. But at some point, you have to commit. Otherwise, you stay scattered. — Today we worked with a simple concentration practice: Sit upright Relax the body Feel the breath Stay with it Again and again. — I used the metaphor of training a wild elephant. Your mind doesn’t settle because you want it to. It settles because you train it. Gently. Consistently. Repeatedly. — If your meditation feels unstable, don’t add more. Go back to concentration. Stabilize first. Everything else builds on that. — Where are you right now in your practice?
