Move Before You Feel Ready
Today's quote from the book: “But the day came and went, and nothing happened.” Doing What You Know, Chapter 9, p. 167 A lot of people don’t fail because they picked the wrong goal. They fail because they never actually move on the goal they chose. They plan it out. They think it through. They talk about it. And for a while, it feels like progress. But when the moment comes to execute, hesitation steps in. They wait to feel ready. They tweak things. They tell themselves they just need a little more time. Then the day comes… and nothing happens. That’s where most momentum dies. Execution doesn’t require perfect timing or perfect confidence. It requires a decision to act, even when it feels incomplete. The people who move forward aren’t the ones who feel the most ready. They’re the ones who move anyway. If you’re being honest, you already know what you need to do next. The question isn’t clarity. The question is whether you’re going to act on it.

The "Don't Quit" Filter
"Don't give up! Great things take some time." Time is the ultimate filter. It weeds out the people who aren't serious. If it were easy and fast, everyone would do it, and it wouldn't be "great." The fact that it takes time is exactly what gives it value. When you feel like giving up, what is the one thought or "Why" that pulls you back from the edge?

Once you decide to do something, quitting isn't an option.
Guarding Your Inputs
If doubt is something we create, we have to look at the "ingredients" we’re using. If you consume negativity and criticism, you’ll create doubt. If you consume growth and support, you’ll create belief. What is one podcast, book, or person that always helps you clear the "mental fog" of doubt?

Intention Isn’t Enough
Today's quote from the book: “That experience taught me a vital lesson: intentions don’t change your life, actions do.” Doing What You Know, Chapter 9, p. 167 It’s easy to feel like you’re making progress when you’re planning, thinking, and preparing. You can have notebooks full of ideas, clear goals, and strong intentions, and still be standing in the exact same place. That’s the trap. Intentions feel productive, but they don’t create results. They don’t build anything, fix anything, or move anything forward. They only set the stage for what could happen. Action is what changes things. The shift happens when you stop measuring your progress by what you plan to do and start measuring it by what you actually execute. That’s where growth becomes real. That’s where momentum starts. You don’t need better intentions. You need to move on the ones you already have.
