Timing Drills
Hi all! New to both this community and tennis (about 5 hours in on learning). I think the number one thing I would like to focus on next time I practice is timing on hitting the ball/footwork. Any tips or drills? Thanks!

I think it’s always helpful to prepare/start moving early. You can try to do a split step or start your racket takeback right when the other person hits their shot
Suggestions for Rally Games/Drills
I find myself usually rallying with friends over playing matches, since several prefer to get more hitting in that way. What’re some rally games like dingles we can try so i don’t end up just hitting to the middle when i play matches? 😅
Dealing with the heat
Anyone got tips for dealing with the heat? I bring an insulated bottle with ice and still find myself overheating and dehydrating pretty quickly.

What helped me this summer has been starting my hydration and electrolytes the night before and during the day of a match since i sweat a lot lol
Been working on my forehand lately
I still feel like I’m using too much arm instead of my body. Any tips or drills that helped you?

Does your hitting stance allow you to use your lower body? Being mindful about having your feet apart and knees bent based on the ball height can give your legs and hips the space to naturally engage when you swing.
Playing with Wind
What are your best tips for playing in the wind?

Sometimes i try to take the ball a bit earlier or even hit more half vollies for loopier returns so there’s less time for the wind to push the ball around while it's bouncing upward
