If you’re wondering WTF I’m rambling about this time… I’m talking about the Skool built-in gamification (if you don’t know what that is head to #Skool communities are just forums it explains it all). You get different symbols next to your name when you achieve certain milestones, one is the 🔥 Why should you care about this as a community builder? Because it tells people that you are active on the platform, and tells you if potential community members are active, without having to click their profile. It’s important as somebody who is building a community that you stay active on here, even if you don’t post everyday you should at least check in! Reply to comments, start some conversations, in other communities not just your own. But most importantly be in your own community for your members. I log in once a day to post & do admin stuff. Then I have the app on my phone (yes there’s an app!) This allows me to respond to comments and deal with any issues like spam posts quickly. When I’m busy or done working for the day I put my phone on DnD simple. You can be an active and engaged community owner without sitting at your laptop 24/7 😉

If you post something in here and I remove it and send you feedback asking you not to post whatever it was…don’t post the same thing again 5 mins later 🙄 This is not a group for spam, if you are here to post and ghost just leave now and save me the job of removing you later 👋 If you legit want to build your business then stay and actually be a member of this community 💋

I’m not running this community to make my fortune, that’s not the goal, sure being able to pay my bills is a bonus BUT this community and my Basic AF program are about more than that, which is why it’s a £200 course not a £2k one (and trust me it could be if I wanted it to be with just a few tiny tweaks 😹) BBS is about my belief that everyone should have access to fundamentals that can help them improve their lives, that being able to grow and learn should not only be for those who can afford it. That’s why Finding your thing & The Skool Sprint are FREE and will always be available & always FREE because those two mini trainings are literally all you need to get your business started. I was reminded today by @Raven Steele in her community Revenue Revolution about why I started this, why I came back to it even after a huge life changing event. Because I want to help people, genuine people who are struggling to find their footing in business and need somebody to show them the way. Anyway, that's all I wanted to say 💋

Everybody needs support even those of us who are offering it to others! This community has made learning new skills so much easier and kept me motivated even on the hardest days. And with help from Raven, I’m now able to use an avatar in the same wheelchair I actually use in my day to day life – which means everything to me. Disability representation is hugely important for awareness, and I’m grateful to finally see myself reflected in the content I create. So why an avatar instead of photos? A few reasons: 1️⃣ Safety first – As a DV survivor with two toxic ex’s (lesson learned!) and no contact with my entire family, I have to be careful about location information getting out there. 2️⃣ Practical reality – I don’t have the time, energy, or finances for studio photo shoots. 3️⃣ Pure joy – It’s fun! I can put my avatar in situations I can’t physically achieve anymore, like rock climbing, which I used to love before I developed a debilitating fear of heights.
