Tracking Your Weight + So Much More: Why the RunStar 8-Electrode Smart Scale Is a Game-Changer for Body Recomp. 💪 Happy 4th of July weekend, everyone! 🇺🇸 If you’re deep into peptides, TRT, training hard, and dialing in nutrition like I am, you already know the scale doesn’t tell the full story. Dropping weight is one thing — but losing visceral fat while holding onto (or building) muscle? That’s the real win. That’s why I’ve been loving the RunStar 8-electrode smart scale I’ve been using for months. Note: I get no commission and this post isn’t sponsored by Runstart I just wanted to share a tool I’m using and enjoying with y’all. Heads up: Amazon currently has it on sale with a $40 coupon, bringing it down to $129 (I paid $169). That’s a steal for the insights you get. Grab it here if you’re ready to level up your tracking: https://a.co/d/07H6AdOL Why Go Beyond Just Weight? Most bathroom scales only show pounds. This one uses 8 electrodes (4 on the platform + 4 on the retractable handle) and dual-frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) to scan your entire body — upper limbs, lower limbs, and torso. It delivers segmental analysis, meaning it breaks down fat and muscle distribution in each area instead of just giving you one whole-body number. I even compared it to a DEXA scan and was surprised how close the readings were for the key metrics I care about. It’s not 100% perfect (no consumer scale is), but it’s an excellent, affordable daily/weekly trend tracker versus shelling out for frequent DEXA scans. My starting point: ~245 lbs at roughly 29–30% body fat (pre-TRT/peptides). I’m 5’11”. Right now I’m sitting at 202lbs and 22% body fat, and my goal is 15–18% at 185 lbs. Thanks to this scale, I can actually see whether the peptides (like Retatrutide), training, and lifestyle changes are preferentially dropping visceral fat versus subcutaneous fat, while confirming I’m adding or preserving muscle. That data keeps me motivated and helps me adjust protocols intelligently.
