Netipam - UniFi IPAM & Network Inventory Application
I have been working on an opensource application that started as a simple project to fill a need for my network/homelab, but has since grown into much more. I decided that if I found it useful, maybe someone else will. I enjoy developing and programming (probably a little too much) so this grew into what it is now. It's called Netipam, and it is basically an IPAM with network inventory. Right now, it is UniFi specific due to the depth of information available via the UniFi API, which has allowed a lot of automation in the app that normally would not be available with a typical ping/scan application. I would really love to get some people with a UniFi network to try it and give feedback. My plan is to add features based on feedback as I have far surpassed what I originally needed, so why stop now? I would like at some point to even expand beyond just UniFi. I created a website that has enough information to get you going, but I do plan to enhance the documentation on the site. You can quickly install via Docker or Synology Container Manager. I look forward to any feedback! Website --> https://netipam.com Github --> https://github.com/nodeplex/Netipam Docker Hub --> https://hub.docker.com/r/nodeplex/netipam

What Proxmox Management tools are you using in your home lab?
I wrote up a post on the 5 that I am currently exploring and using heavily in the lab right now. 5 Proxmox Management Tools I Use in My Home Lab in 2026 #proxmox #homelab #homeserver https://www.virtualizationhowto.com/2026/02/5-proxmox-management-tools-i-use-in-my-home-lab-in-2026/

Starting to use Proxmox Datacenter Manager some, as well as have used Pulse some lately, but mostly I just use the native Proxmox GUI. Currently working on my own IPAM and network inventory app and planning to do some type of Proxmox integration into it.

@Brandon Lee I definitely am open sourcing it, it should be public on github later today, trying to finalize a few things this morning. It is already on Docker hub. More info @ netipam.com
Netbox
I have seen a few youtuve tutorials on Netbox so tought I would give it a try. Its a great solution for managing your physical and virtual network inventry. I beleive @Brandon Lee you have already done a video on this?

I think Netbox is great, and I agree it takes a lot of work upfront. However, if you are someone that is frequently making changes to your network and adding/removing clients or devices, it could be a tremendous amount of maintenance to keep up with it. If your network is stable and rarely changes, it a great documentation tool with great detail. I struggled to find an IPAM / Inventory tool that does what I want without such complexity so I am developing my own. It is currently UniFi centric but that helps it to automate the changes and stay up to date. So far I love it and continuing to add features, and I dumped my spreadsheet and PHPipam. But Netbox is great for the right setup.

Home Assistant and ESPHome
Hey all. Just curious if anybody else is running Home Assistant in their home lab. Over the weekend, I installed ESPHome on an ESP32 board. One gotcha to keep an eye out for is that some of the functionality of ESPHome won't work (without some hoop-jumping) if you are running Home Assistant in Docker or in an LXC Container. I've had HA Core running in LXC for most of this year. I will likely be backing up the config and moving it to a full VM so I can get access to the extra features. Just wanted to share the rabbit-hole I found myself down over the weekend. Have a Happy Monday!

I would highly recommend running HAOS in a VM, it saves a lot of headaches and keeps thing much simpler when it comes to add-ons. I have been running HA for a couple of years or so now and still on the same install, even after moving it to several different servers during that time. I run it as a VM in Proxmox.
