I know this is probably a real newbie question but I'm seeing these hi frequencies active in the PAZ analyzer when nothing is playing and I can't figure out where it's coming from. I've tried disconnecting the power cord which made no difference. Is it the laptop's fan? Can I use a noise gate to overcome it?

Setting up my room for digital mixing (I've been in the analog world way too long!). I understand an external audio interface is better than using of the onboard connections on my laptop. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced external audio interface? Looks like the prices run the gamit but I really only need it for stereo in and out, possibly a MIDI interface. TIA. I know this is pretty basic question but I appreciate the wealth of experience out there.

Pro tip- 30 seconds counts as a stream. Spotify likes when people "like" a song or save a song to your playlist. These are positive signals, so if you're vibing you know what to do. Skips, or less-than-30-second plays are negative signals to the platform, so let's all try not to do give Spotify negative signals, even if you're not into the music people are sharing.
