START HERE - Welcome to Restaurant Content Lab 👋
This is a space for restaurant owners who already have something going — you don't need to be starting from scratch. You have the restaurant. We're here to help you get more out of the content, photos, and online presence you already have (or should have). To kick things off, drop a comment below and tell us: 1. Introduce yourself / restaurant — name, cuisine, location, whatever makes it "you." 2. Share your website or Instagram so we can take a look. 3. Tell us your biggest content problem right now — bad photos, no time to post, low engagement, whatever it is. 4. Upload something you'd like feedback on — a photo, your menu, a screenshot of your Instagram, anything. No wrong answers here. The more specific you are, the more useful the feedback will be. Let's go 👇

Welcome @Josh Allan Glad to have you here. You said you're interested in learning more about videography? Tell me more. I might be able to post a few things I can help.
REAL EXAMPLE: MOVE CLOSER
Sometimes the fix isn’t new equipment, new lighting, or a complicated setup. Sometimes you just need to move closer. 🔴 BEFORE The original image showed a lot of the restaurant, but the food was sitting very small at the bottom of the frame. The environment was beautiful — but there was so much space around the dish that the food wasn’t really the star. 🟡 THE FEEDBACK My advice to the client was simple: 👉 Move in. Get physically closer to the table and let the food take up more of the frame. We still wanted to show the restaurant’s atmosphere and beautiful interior, but the viewer should immediately know: “This is about the food.” 🟢 AFTER Once the camera moved closer: 🍽️ The dishes became the focal point 📸 The composition felt more intentional 👀 Your eye had a clear place to land ✨ The food felt more detailed and appetizing 🏠 We could still keep enough of the restaurant environment to tell the story 💡 THE TAKEAWAY Before changing your camera, lighting, or editing, check your distance. If the food feels lost in the photo: Move closer before you do anything else. A few steps can completely change the image. 👇 Look at the before and after — which one makes you want to look at the food longer?

👀 Get Your Restaurant Content Reviewed
This is the heart of the Lab. Every week, we're reviewing real content from real restaurants — and that means your submissions are what keeps this whole thing running. You can submit: - A food photo - An Instagram post - Your menu - Your website - A DoorDash or Uber Eats listing image - A video - An ad - AI-generated content (yes, this counts — especially if something feels "off" about it) When you submit, tell us: What are you trying to accomplish with it? Are you trying to get more delivery orders, more foot traffic, more engagement, better first impressions? Context helps us give you feedback that actually matters. Drop your submission in the comments and we'll dig in — either here or live in our weekly session. Our weekly critiques are also available in Spanish — feel free to participate in English or Español. --- También ofrecemos nuestras críticas y sesiones semanales en Español — ¡siéntete libre de participar en el idioma que prefieras!

Business diagnostician. I help owners find out what's actually wrong - content, systems, tools, or the hard conversations - before prescribing a fix.
