Santo Trafficante Jr
SANTO TRAFFICANTE JR. —From Hillsborough High School to the Mafia underworld, Santo Trafficante Jr. received an education unlike any other. Around 1930, at age 15 or 16, Santo Trafficante Jr. left Hillsborough High School to begin an unusual education. His father, Tampa Mafia boss Santo Trafficante Sr., introduced him to the world of organized crime, including influential New York gangsters. Among them was Tommy Lucchese, a future New York Mafia boss who reportedly became a mentor to young Santo. Although there was no actual "gangster school," Trafficante learned the Mafia business from some of America's most powerful underworld figures. By 1946, he was involved in the family's gambling interests in Cuba. Following his father's death in 1954, Santo Jr. became Tampa's Mafia boss. The photograph on the left shows a young Santo Jr. at Tampa’s Italian Club in the 1920s. Of the two photographs on the right, the top one shows Hillsborough High School around 1930, while the bottom one shows the Trafficante family home on North Boulevard in Tampa, where Santo Jr. was reportedly “homeschooled” by his father. Remarkably, the family home is still standing today. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19yWP9844j/?mibextid=wwXIfr

1 Chronicles 16:24
“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!” ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭16‬:‭24‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The Art of God For an artist, there's a true honor and joy in showcasing their work. Others are able to witness the creativity and craftsmanship of the artist while being captivated by the story behind their artwork. In 1 Chronicles 16:24, the writer calls God’s people to display God’s greatness among all nations, showcasing His marvelous deeds for others to witness and come to know this divine artist—God, the Creator of the universe. Each day is an opportunity for us, as God’s people, to showcase God’s glory through our actions and words. And just as artwork captivates distant onlookers, our lives should draw others in to witness and experience God and His story of redemption. Ephesians 2:10 says, “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” So, consider these three ways you can embrace the call to display God’s glory as you engage the world around you: - Celebrate His Glory: We should seek to celebrate others' (and our own) unique gifts, experiences, and abilities because it offers us a glimpse into the multifaceted nature of God's creativity. - Reflect His Glory: We should seek to reflect God’s attributes of love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and justice. - Share His Glory: We should actively use our God-given gifts to share the message of God's love and salvation with others. In a world desperate for hope, we have the true joy and honor of showcasing God’s glory as a part of His story of redemption.
