In My Glass
Finishing a 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Kirkland brands before I move on to some other red, Rioja perhaps, in order to calm myself (can't find my passport) and enjoy my steak. How's that for one sentence? 🤣

Me: Ordering the same bottle again because I don’t have the range
... Because let’s be honest it’s never really about the wine. It’s about sticking with what feels familiar because it’s safe. Because you already know you won’t regret it. Because choosing something new feels like a risk you don’t feel like managing tonight. Funny how we do this with drinks, with routines, with decisions we say we’ll change “soon.” Not because we can’t choose better but because familiar feels comfortable. Anyway. Back to my predictable order 🍷

With me it's Pinot Noir. I just purchased a case and I already had about 6 bottles. However, I do love a good Chianti Classico.

I have a knack for breaking my wine glasses. I swear I'm THIS close to using a sippy cup.
Favorite Varietals
What are everyone's favorite varietals? Red for me is Pinot Noir. White is Pinot Gris.

Red - Pinot Noir, white - Sancere or New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
Wine language sounds complicated because it was built that way.
Here’s what people usually mean: ● Dry = not sweet ● Acid = mouth-watering ● Tannins = drying feeling on your tongue ● Body = how heavy the wine feels ● Oak = vanilla, toast, or spice That’s enough to move comfortably. You don’t need more words. You need fewer doubts.

I can pretty much identify those aspects of wine but not individual aromas or tastes (black cherry, green bell pepper, wet dog) due to my nasal polyps, I think. TMI?

A wine lover who loves to dress well and travel when I can. Pinot Noir is my favorite red and Sancere/New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc my favorite white.
