Friday
Spin ✅ It’s been a week of eating in my “challenge” split, being consistent in aiming for those targets, and getting almost or over 10k steps a day! It has actually felt easier than I thought it would! 🙌🏼 This weekend is the only time in the next 5 weeks where I’ll give myself this much freedom, because we’re celebrating 10 years of being married (4/16 was our anniversary) and we’re away! Since I’ve been so locked in, I’m moving into it with intention and just focusing on not drinking too much, steps, hydrating, enjoying the time together and *not* stressing over food — the instant we do, “eating healthy” just becomes unhealthy anyway. 😁

Guys… I did SO much today.. I’m not even gonna hide hour proud of myself I am!!! I worked 5p-1130p. I didn’t actually go to bed until about 1a. And then I was woken up a couple times (damn kids)… but got up at 7 and walked the dog a mile. Then finished washing the walls and cabinets in the kitchen, dining room and play room… and then took Eddie to the park to ride his bike. And I walked about 1.25 with the dog. And then school and Walmart and target and made a list for great wolf, and sat outside for a minute. And at the school playing on the playground now with the kids!! Lots of running around and oh I did laundry too. Hahha and then Rita’s and the kids are going to the movies with my mom and dad and I are going to enjoy happy hour together somewhere!!! Happy anniversary weekend!
Keeping an open mind
Hi everyone, as many of you know I posted here about taking on a 6 week challenge and part of that is actually lowering the amount of protein (and calories overall, to move from maintenance calories into a deficit). It’s something I actually want to do just because it’s been a while (probably since July 2024!!) since I’ve taken on a fat loss phase and I thought it was time to give it a try. I decided to learn a little bit more about some of the updated research on protein intake, totals needed, and just keep an open mind as I entered this challenge — and you know me, I love my research. Dr Stuart Phillips is the leading researcher on protein (especially regarding aging and athletics). This is a nerdy podcast episode where they really hit on many different topics but it is higher level thinking so you’ll want to be ready for a more complex conversation and learning. But if you’re a nutrition science nerd and endless learner like me, you will love this full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylMI6rleLCE the description has marked on topics if you want to skip around! ** One thing I’ll admit is that this concept of lowering my protein when I’ve always heard that “more is better” concept has been hard to try and rewire and accept!! But getting uncomfortable and trying new things, trusting the process (AND THE SCIENCE) is something I know is required for progress… so I’m working on giving it a try! I’m curious on your thoughts on this topic. 👇🏼 As always, I never know “it all” and I’m always a learner, coaching with humility and not afraid to admit “I was wrong”. I’m always open to discussion and hearing points of view that you all might have. Hopefully you’ll give the podcast or at least this attached video a listen!

I need to listen to this when I walk later!
Challenge starts… yesterday??
Happy Sunday everyone! My 6 week “challenge” — just dialing in for my beach trip in 40 days starts today, but I have been getting in the right mindset for a few days now!! Yesterday was the first Saturday in MONTHS that I’ve ended in a calorie deficit and I didn’t even do a “real” workout (but lots of fucking steps lol). I made a ton of intentional decisions like taking my food and snacks out with us for activities, not buying or picking at food that the boys got, and making dinner at home based on the room left in my plan knowing I really wanted to land in a deficit for the day. Today my goal is 3 indoor walks around 10 mins each because it’s raining and I don’t think we will get out. Wesley has swim lessons and I have plenty of housework to do as well - laundry, changing the sheets, general organizing. Curious how you’re all doing!

I have my factor meals for my lunches for my work days this week. I will prep/write out what dinners will be for the week. I will also be making my goals for the 6 week challenge and I will post in here when I do that! We had a busy weekend and I need to get the house in order and save as Kristen- spring cleaning: I went through the kids clothing yesterday and today I want to go through mine and switch it out and stuff!!! I also need to wipe down these walls- they are gross. So I need to buy a swiffer wet jet to do that. I saw a TikTok where they used one to wipe down walls and I was like yup!! lol
Looking for 1-2 close accountability partners!!!
My beach trip at the end of May is now 44 days away! ☀️😁 I definitely feel pretty good in my skin but I won’t lie that I’d like to just dial things in with my nutrition over the next few weeks as we head into that vacation which starts May 29. I readjusted my own macros and calories, My workouts are staying the same, I’m adding a daily walk (aiming now for 9,000-10,000 steps even on non-work days which is going to be A LOT for me but this extra movement will help me get into a slight calorie deficit that hopefully feels doable). I’m not cutting anything out but I DO have to be more dialed in and intentional — for me that means less processed options, more whole and nutrient dense foods, not as much candy, and just being aware on the weekends of my choices in the moment and keep my goals in mind (this is where an accountability partner or two will really help me). *im going on an anniversary trip with Glenn in 2 weekends so don’t worry you don’t have to “be perfect” I definitely am just going to do my best with what I have — knowing my mindset and intentions will still get me better results than having no goal or direction! I’m looking to run this personal challenge officially starting on Sunday so I have time to plan and prep with different calories/macros. For my partners I’ll also work with you to come up with macro splits and calorie targets as part of this! I’m planning to offer a paid option but some practice would be great. **This would be at no charge but I would like you to really give this your best effort - let’s work to get results together! You in?? Contact me directly by this Friday 4/17 so we can do your calculations and make a plan to start Sunday 4/19 with me!

50 rides!
If you told me a year ago I’d be here, holding light up numbers at a spin studio before 5am — I would not have believed you. And here I am — WITH @Rachel Zehnder ! I always preferred working out at home until I tried this… I was hooked immediately. The music, the lights, the endorphins 🤩 More thoughts coming on this, but today we celebrate the first milestone. What a special way to start this beautiful Thursday 🥰
