Bitsa Meals: The No-Recipe Way to Feed Your Family
Some nights the fridge looks grim. Half a zucchini. One carrot.A tiny bit of leftover chicken.Questionable spinach.Low motivation. And yet somehow… dinner still happens. That’s a bitsa meal. Bitsa this. Bitsa that. Honestly, some of the best family meals come from using what you already have instead of following a perfect recipe. My usual formula: - Protein - Vegetables - Flavour - Rice/noodles/pasta/potatoes That’s it. Tonight’s bitsa meals usually become: - fried rice, - wok noodles, - tray bakes, - soups, - pasta, - or “throw everything in the pan and hope”. (An underrated cooking method.) Current favourite: Wok: - leftover roast meat - garden greens - garlic + ginger - soy sauce - rice noodles - crispy noodles on top Nobody complains when crispy noodles are involved. Honestly, bitsa meals: - reduce waste, - save money, - lower stress, - and often end up more nutritious than overthinking dinner. Not every meal needs a recipe. Sometimes it just needs feeding people without creating extra chaos. More bitsa mealsin the link: https://wp.me/pf4LB6-1G5 What’s your best “bitsa” meal combo lately?

Gluten-free doesn’t mean your gut is healed.
It just means you’ve removed something your body was struggling with. And for a lot of women, that’s where things start to get confusing… You might feel better at first. But then over time: - you start reacting to more foods - your meals become more limited - you feel unsure what’s “safe” to eat So what do most people do? 👉 Cut more foods out. But here’s the part that often gets missed: Removing foods doesn’t rebuild your ability to digest them. If your gut isn’t being supported, your body can actually become more sensitive over time — not less. 💬 Let’s make this practical I’m curious… Have you ever removed a food (like gluten or dairy), felt better, then struggled when trying to bring it back in? Or do you feel like you’re currently reacting to more foods than you used to? 👇 Share below — even just a “yes” is helpful. 🌿 My approach (and what I’m working on with you all) Instead of:❌ cutting more and more foods out I focus on: ✔ rebuilding digestive capacity ✔ simplifying food ✔ making it realistic for everyday life I’ve just written a blog on this if you want to read more — and I’m also putting together a small 6-week guided reset to support this properly. >> https://athomewithmrse.com/2026/05/15/gluten-free-doesnt-mean-healed-why-you-still-feel-off-and-what-to-do-instead/ No pressure — just sharing where this is heading.

Welcome
Welcome — I’m really glad you’re here. If you’ve joined this space, there’s a good chance food hasn’t been feeling quite as simple as it used to. Maybe you’re eating well, but still dealing with bloating, low energy, or feeling a bit off.Maybe you’ve tried removing foods, adding supplements, or “cleaning things up” — but it hasn’t quite clicked. You’re not alone in that. And more importantly — you’re not stuck. This space is about Everyday Nutrition — not in a perfect, restrictive, or overwhelming way… but in a way that actually fits real life. What you’ll find here: • Simple ways to support your gut without cutting everything • Real food ideas for busy days (and tired evenings) • Practical nutrition that helps you feel better — physically and mentally • A focus on rebuilding, not restricting Because the goal isn’t to keep removing foods forever. It’s to help your body get back to a place where food feels easier again. Over the next little while, I’ll be sharing more around how to do that — gently, simply, and without the guesswork. I’ll also be opening a small 6-week reset starting May 1st for those who want a more structured approach. For now — feel free to introduce yourself below, or just have a read through and take what you need. -Mrs E
