🌿 A Little Reflection from Me 🌿
The garden is growing fast. The hedgerows are full. The days are long. And yet today, at least here, the sky is grey and the rain is falling. I've been a little quieter in the community over the last few days because I've been trying to get my head around Meta (Facebook) ads. It's felt like I've been going round in circles at times—frustrating, time-consuming, and definitely not what I'd choose to be doing with my days! But it's a necessary part of running a business and reaching more people. It reminded me that growth doesn't always happen in sunshine. Sometimes growth happens quietly. Sometimes it happens underground. Sometimes it happens when we're forced to slow down and focus on the things we'd rather avoid. In my case, that meant going back to basics and following step-by-step processes. Not an easy ask for an ADHD brain that likes to jump ahead! But persevere I have, and success has finally come. While the rain has been falling outside, the flowers have been blooming and the garden has been having a good drink. And while I've been glued to my laptop, determined to find the answers, I've realised I've actually grown in knowledge and understanding too. I've been trying to master this stuff for years, and something has finally clicked. When I've felt overwhelm creeping in, I've reached for my rose petal spray, taken a mindful moment, and brought myself back to the present. I'm pleased to report that I've managed to stay calm and centred... ...and I have successfully refrained from throwing my laptop out of the window. 😆 So today's journal prompt is: ✨ What in my life is growing right now, even if I can't fully see it yet? Perhaps it's confidence.Perhaps it's a new idea.Perhaps it's a relationship, a skill, or a deeper connection to yourself. Nature doesn't rush the process, and neither do we. I'd love to hear your reflections below if you'd like to share. 🌿

For years I've been making up lies and excuses to work colleagues and friends why I work such long hours to complete the same work as others do in 7.5 hrs. This last month I've chosen to become more kind to myself, shortened my hours regardless of finances, I've admitted freely to everyone I'm just slow at decision making, typing, im obsessive perfectionist, considered in thought processes and not at all sorry for any of it. I still stay a bit late, but not ridiculously late, im no longer sleep deprived and I had a lovely mindful time collecting rose petals yesterday which are now drying, I intend to make oil and tea, I especially look forward to Rose and elderflower tea, and will press a flower today 😊 p. s. Tree ID is in my plan.
🌿 Understanding the Nervous System 🌿
Your nervous system was never designed for endless emails, traffic jams, social media, bills, and constant background stress. It was designed for survival. For most of human history, we lived as hunter gatherers, deeply connected to nature and dependent on our tribe for safety. Back then, danger was immediate and physical. A predator in the trees. A hostile tribe. A bear charging towards you through the forest. When this happened, the sympathetic nervous system would switch on automatically — what we often call fight or flight. In that moment, your body becomes entirely focused on survival: ⚡ your heart beats faster ⚡ your breathing quickens ⚡ muscles tense and prepare for action ⚡ digestion slows down ⚡ stress hormones flood the body ⚡ awareness sharpens onto the threat Your body isn’t thinking about long-term health or relaxation at this point. It’s thinking:“Stay alive.” And this response is incredible. It’s one of the reasons our species survived. But what’s important is what would happen next… If the bear was escaped, killed, or the danger passed, the nervous system would begin to settle again. You would return to the safety of your tribe, the fire, familiar faces, food, touch, rest. This is where the parasympathetic nervous system comes in — often called “rest and digest.” The body slowly receives the message:🌙 you are safe now Heart rate slows. Breathing deepens. Digestion returns. Muscles soften. The body begins repairing, healing, and restoring itself. The problem is that modern life can keep many of us stuck in low-level fight or flight almost constantly. Our nervous systems often react to: 📱 notifications 📧 work pressure 💬 conflict 💰 financial stress 🕰 rushing and overwhelm 👥 fear of judgement or rejection Even though there’s no bear chasing us through the forest… the body can still respond as though there is. And over time, this takes a toll. Learning about this system, and how to work with it, is something I’ve become deeply passionate about, and I’m currently creating some deeper nervous system reset courses and practices for the premium space, which I’ll share more about when they’re ready 🌿

A great post... I'm in the work canteen, three hours before I start work...to avoid the stress of traffic, I got my tablet out to try to reduce the five thousand or so emails in my inbox that stress me ... but luckily I found your email early on and for the last hour and i feel thoroughly relaxed and happy just reading the posts I've missed and feeling a new emotion of connection with you all in a supportive way ( as everyone around me appears to cope fine), I find modern life challenging at 58. I've loved and worshipped nature more since 2020, when I was forced into normal work hours ! My new moon wish was to work towards the better work life balance, some positive deeps made.

Magic of Nettles mini-course 😆
🌿 I am honestly SO excited about this Magic of Nettles mini-course 🍃 The deeper I go into creating it, the more I’m falling in love with nettles all over again. Not just as food or medicine… but as a plant that nourishes entire ecosystems, supports our bodies so deeply, and reconnects us with the old ways of seasonal living 🌱 Every time I add a new lesson, recipe, or reflection, I keep thinking: “I can’t wait for everyone to unlock this magic for themselves.” And honestly… who knew one humble “weed” could hold SO much wisdom?! So let’s have a little fun 👇 Drop a GIF in the comments that expresses how excited you are to unlock the course 😂🌿✨ AND while you’re here:🍃 like people’s comments🍃 reply to each other🍃 cheer one another on because every interaction helps each other move closer to Level 3 and unlock the course together 🌱 I genuinely love seeing this community come alive like this 💚
