Fun Friday (but really tho?)
Sometimes, emails from random subscribers make for great entertainment fodder... although a part of you wants to cry, too. Like this one... ----- Good afternoon, Side Blogger staff, I keep receiving your emails, but I don't understand what you actually do or what value they add to anyone's life. Once again, you are like a lot of other text people who put stuff around, who assume everybody is a computer geek and understands all of the nuances the computer language people use. I am interested in an open discussion space where I can discuss issues with people, but with a level of security that ensures plenty of scrupulous people around, seeking to get access to my computer for malicious reasons. So, unless I can understand what it means, I think I'm left to try to kill it off, as it comes across my computer very regularly. ----- This came from a person (or persons, because they signed off as Name & Name) who subscribed to my list 4 months ago and has opened almost every email... according to Kit, anyway... Like... what am I to make of this...? 🫠 Anyway... what's making you laugh and cry at the same time, these days? Share away!

I hope the door hit them on the way out.
SureCart
So, Woo Commerce and I got into a fight last night. I apparently won because I deleted it and got SureCart. I hear that SureCart isn't as bulky to help with loading times. Do you have any experience with it? What is a better secondary option to consider? I won't get anything but a "free" option due to my overhead costs.

After I picked a different theme I didn't have too many issues with load times. I will try this for now, maybe I'll love it.

@Nick Bandy I looked into thrivecart, it seems well worth the investment. It's good to know there's a limit on upsells on SureCart.
Brag about your entrepreneurial past
Have you ever made money outside of your JOB and current business? I wanna know (and brag about my own entrepreneurial past because...) Tell me all the ways you've made money. No judgement. Bake sales, foot pics, whipping people (or being whipped)... anything goes... And if you have never made money in *unconventional* ways, that's cool... take this opportunity to come up with some ideas! (Why? I dunno... it's fun...) Make a list of things you could do... list-making is the epitome of creativity, not talked about enough... Mine: - The beginning was good old tutoring my neighbor's kid back in middle and high school - I ran a print magazine in college for film photography. Sold each issue for $13... which was $1 over the cost of the printing and shipping... it was never gonna pan out. - I once taught people how to do hand-lettering (I have no idea why people were paying me because man I sucked!) - I've made websites for people - I took photos for artists' and actors' "portfolios" - One artist couple hired me to design their yearly TriBeca artwalk booklet (24 pages, $1,350... covered that month's rent last minute... whew... NYC rent is no joke, even way back when). - A chick in NYC paid me $5 to take her photo with my Polaroid... 👇

@Denisse Vega that sounds so nice- the hotels I mean. They always bring in the "best speakers" to keep you motivated and spending money. 🤣 I had the same, only in Nashville. I was so excited then realized that I had fallen for a cult like program.

@Maliha M I will definitely look into it. I know I'm stalling because of it.
Weekly agenda - 2/23
Time for some accountability sht. For me... Last week was... OK. I ran an affiliate promo and tweaked around with the auction idea (the rational mind says to scrap the idea, but the irrational mind says to keep at it because really, it is the best thing ever! I'm literally lending my whole audience to someone every single week!) This week's big goal is to finish March Field Notes for Vault members. And then, try to get some people on the call with me, make a couple of lead magnets and low-ticket offers, go through Travis Sago's 24-hour auction guide (still haven't gone through it... 🙃), and maybe make some money 😌 Share yours away! 👇

@Denisse Vega I'm honestly new to gumroad, so I'm just playing around with it at this point. I could be boring and math it out, but check out the fees before you decide. @Maliha M might know some about the upsell, I have seen other people use it. Congrats on one subscriber!! That's honestly the hardest part is getting the first! I'm super proud of you!

@Maliha M you do plenty and get paid for it. You have the right to sit down and chill a bit more.
