Sharing the course with others?
Hi Podigy people, I have at least one person in my tech guidance group who's interested in podcasting. Maybe a few others. Is there going to be a way to refer them to the course-not-course? I'd like to be able to send people to you for the foundation and then tech hand-hold them through the details. Thanks!

@Dawn Petrin hi Dawn, I got a late start and would like to continue for a few more months. I responded to the email you sent on June 11th and asked for the link for the founding rate of $49, but I haven't received a reply. Could you please advise how to proceed? Gracias!
The truth about views on YouTube - this will give you hope
Hey everyone, I recently came across a 6-minute video on YouTube that has a very important takeaway. That I'm sure it will help most of you. It's a video where Alex Hormozi talks about which videos really drive revenue for his business (which he calls ACQ here, Acquisition.com). And surprise surprise, lots of views don't translate into more business. And low views don't translate into less business. In his words: "give 0 f*cks about views". And I think that's very important to understand because most business owners/podcasters/content creators chace views. Now, don't get me wrong... Views have their role, especially if you have high views with new people. Lots of views give you a lot of credibility and help you build a bigger brand. BUT when one of the biggest YouTubers on Earth says views don't matter for revenue, we need to listen. He even says at the end that none of his most successful videos (in terms of views) drove more revenue. And I think the biggest takeaway is: focus on posting great content for your specific target audience. And DON'T get discouraged by low views. Because there are small channels that drive lots of business and big channels that are broke. Aiming for lots of views is still a good goal to have, but not the only one

Really interesting video. @Alberto Croce thanks for sharing! His perspective is insightful from both an advertising and content creation perspective. I like what he said about “divorcing your ego” from the number of views. Create good content for the target audience of your business, not to chase views.

@Alberto Croce Thanks so much for a great training. I'm curious to hear more about your thoughts on pacing and episode timing. Once weekly? Is there a recommended number of episodes to gain traction as you launch? Also, you mentioned starting with a solo episode explaining why you're launching the podcast. After that, what's the mix of solo episodes vs. interviews that you recommend? Thanks!

@Alberto Croce yes, thanks so much!
Thoughts on starting to record
This is only tangentily related to the imposter syndrome conversation. After yesterday's call I kept wanting to encourage everyone to just start recording and playing with the platforms. Even if the name, art, music, etc are still in progress. That way when you're for real for real recording you already know the buttons to push and have gotten over some of the tech stress. Plus you have the speaking practice and you get used to your own voice and face. It took me some hours of editing my stuff before I got okay with hearing my voice and many more hours for the video. The video still bothers me a bit and gets me stuck on doing more recording but doing more of it gets me closer to okay with that. Go head in to descript (or riverside) and play. Maybe invite a friend on to get the hang of how interviewing works. Then mess with the editing and the AI stuff. Push all the buttons! That'll at least help with the tech hangups. And you can stick with the free trial until you're ready for the real deal, so no reason to not start now. I think it's also good to practice the intro/outro and reading other copy, to make sure it sounds good out loud and you don't trip up on the words. I've found a lot of copy I end up stumbling and so I can tell it's not in my voice. Or that I'm not super excited about it. But I had to record it to figure that out, and then to play it back to see that it wasn't as awful as I thought. (Although some of it was still pretty awful.) So at this point I've recorded dozens of solo hours of me doing and saying stuff, and a lot of it I won't use. So I think it's helpful to start doing that sooner. When I first tried out riverside, I recorded a test run where I read through all of the settings and pushed the buttons, and it made a "magic clip" out of that, which it named "David laughs through confusing tech setup." I'm sharing that here for your amusement. 😂

Super helpful @David Barbarisi you've got me thinking about how I need to start practicing and get more comfortable hearing my own voice /speaking my own writing out loud and then hearing it played back to me. I loved your suggestion of playing with the tech and getting used to pressing all the buttons. :)
