What are you leaning toward right now?
Real quick one today... Autumn's properly here now, and the sun's pattern is already shifting with it. Plants pick up on that before we ever consciously notice, and they lean toward the light that's actually available to them, not the light they had in July. We do something similar, even if it's less obvious. The season changing often means our bodies want different foods, different paces, different kinds of rest. Leaning into that instead of fighting it isn't giving up on summer. It's just following the actual light you've got right now. Drop a word below... what are you leaning toward as the season shifts, whether that's a food, an activity, or just a different pace?

Big ol' pot O' Chili!! Fall Spices!! Colors! Snuggle up days! Being in the time change my body was made for, come on 11/1!!! All of it, love it, it's all a miracle!

Oh and making my homemade bread!! Nothing beats it!
You're not giving up on it. You're letting it go to seed.
Can we talk about the word "quitting" for a second? You've probably felt it... like walking away from something means you failed at it. Here's the thing... at the end of a plant's season, gardeners let the last blooms go to seed on purpose. Not because the plant did anything wrong, but because that ending is what makes the next season possible at all. You're not giving up. You're just letting this season finish so the next one has something to grow from. Drop a 🌱 if you've ever needed permission to let something end.

What's ready to grow back from the root?
Real quick one today... Cut a plant back hard enough and most people think that's the end of it. But some of the toughest growers don't die back... they come back from the root, stronger and fuller than before, once given the chance. Same goes for you. Getting cut back to almost nothing doesn't mean you're done growing. Sometimes the root was doing quiet work the whole time, even when nothing visible was happening above ground. Fitting one for the first day of fall... a season that's really just the plant world's way of cutting back to grow stronger later. Drop a word below... what feels like it's regrowing from the root right now, even if it doesn't look like much yet?

Me. I thought if I had enough it would make me enough but not till i'm getting rid of stuff do I feel more whole
You're not behind. You just haven't had your chilling hours yet.
Can we talk about the word "behind" for a second? You've probably felt it... like everyone else is blooming and you're still just sitting there, nothing happening. Here's the thing... a lot of perennial wildflower seeds literally won't germinate without a cold spell first. No shortcuts, no rushing it, no skipping straight to spring. The seed isn't broken during that stretch, sitting there doing nothing you can see. It's doing exactly what it needs to do before it's ever ready to open. You're not behind. You're just still in your chilling hours, and that part matters just as much as the bloom. Drop a 🌱 if you needed the reminder that rest isn't the opposite of growth.

So hard to get out of that mindset that if I'm not doing something, I'm being lazy. UUUUgggg dumb programming!! And sure enough if I listen and chill something will come up that needs mass amounts of energy and had I not chilled, I wouldn't be strong enough for that task.
You're not indecisive. You're succession planting.
Can we talk about the word "indecisive" for a second? You've probably heard it aimed at you more than once... like you should already know exactly what you want and be doing all of it right now. Here's the thing... a good gardener doesn't plant the whole bed on the same day. They stagger it, a little now, a little more in a few weeks, so nothing overwhelms the soil at once and something's always coming up. You're not indecisive. You've just been planting in stages, doing what you can hold today and trusting there's room for the rest later. Drop a 🌱 if you've been told to hurry up on something that was never yours to rush.
