Living on the edge of your dreams
People don’t really talk about living on the edge of survival while chasing a dream. Being a pro fighter is a lot like being an artist — you need skill, personality, timing, and yeah… a little luck. For a long time I’ve been right there on that edge. Hustling, buying and selling, throwing events, coaching, living in the gym, staying in shape and staying afloat however I can. This life isn’t for the weak. It looks glamorous from the outside, but most fighters know the grind behind the scenes. I’ve been able to stay consistent because I’ve kept my life simple — no kids, just my dog and a lot of sacrifice. That gave me the space to be selfish with the dream a little longer and keep pushing when it got hard. I know I’m close. And I know a lot of people watching are close to something too. Sometimes people quit right when they’re right there. I’m not trying to do that. These next few years, the rest of my career, I want to be able to say I gave this everything I had and walked away proud. Much respect to anybody out here chasing something that doesn’t come easy. How many of you feel like you’ve been right on the edge too?

MLK documentary on Hulu 🔥🔥
I just watched this documentary on Hulu about MLK and basketball, and man… it really hit me. It talked about how Dr. King and others would literally go to parks, play basketball, beat people on the court, earn their respect, and then invite them into the civil rights movement. Basketball wasn’t just a game, it was a bridge. A way to break barriers, build trust, and bring people together from completely different walks of life. It reminded me why basketball is so powerful. One ball, one court, no matter your background. That’s unity in motion. With Black History Month coming up, I just want to shout out Martin Luther King Jr. and the beauty of leadership, strategy, and love shown through something as simple as sport. As someone who is both Black and white, my perspective in this world has been unique, challenging, and honestly beautiful. Existing as both has always felt like a living reminder of what they said couldn’t or shouldn’t exist. I’m grateful for who I am, where I come from, and the spaces that bring us together. Sports, especially basketball, continue to prove that connection always beats division.
