Emotional Rollercoaster/tax-loss harvesting/rebalancing/switching
Hello, fellow Fearless & funded investors, I am here, not quitting and not going anywhere. I'm working hard behind the scenes. I have been paying debts and investing at the same time. Oh boy, I can't wait to be debt-free and focus 100% on investing. Question: How do you get over the emotion when rebalancing or switching(stocks) your portfolio? I hold a stock I bought over 1.5 years ago. The stock is underperforming; I have lost about half of the money I spent to acquire it. I think now is the time to let that go; it is time to trade the loser for the winner, but when I see how much money I have lost in this particular stock, I am like, maybe I should just wait; the market will correct itself. This is the hard part for me: letting it go when I lose. I would like to know how other people cope with this. Would this stock be eligible for a tax-loss harvesting strategy even though it is only 1.5 years old? Thank you

Hello Nicole. I would admit that it was recommended to me. I understood the mission, but I did not expect it to remain in the low range forever. Several factors contribute to this company's decline; for example, it offers a payment network as a service but does not use its own network, undermining its messaging. Looks like the company is going south to me. I decided to sell part of the security and bought some AI ETFs.

I am so happy to join this community and value your expertise. As I go through classes and complete assignments, I'm unsure how to execute this step. I am on the point of building my portfolio, but I do not know what to do with the investment I currently have. I own some single stocks and ETFs. Should I leave these securities in this account and add the strategy I am trying to implement, or forget about this account, stop contributing, and open a new account for this new strategy? FYI, this is a ROTH IRA.

Market and the news
How's everyone feeling about the stock market? Is the news worrying you and making you change your plan or are you full steam ahead?

I am a little bit worried, but I am not going to give up. One thing I would not do is to make the same mistake I made in 2020-2022. I had stocks and crypto that I bought the year before Covid. The market was going deep down and by fear I sold my asset which are worth good money now. So no, I am not going to commit the same crime; I am going to hold on for dear life. I will keep buying. I am working hard on my mindset; I am telling myself Prisca, this is the good time to buy.

Yes Nicole. I am working on staying away from news. I am grateful to be part of this class; I can't imagine being overwhelmed with all the news out there. My current mantra is "Reset, Refocus, and Execute".

Hello! Prisca here, residing in Chehalis, WA. I am ready to learn how to build wealth. 1- Long-term wealth strategies 2- Create passive income 3- Real Estate investing 4- Retirement Learning how to build an effective portfolio, how to research or pick securities (bonds, index funds, etc.), understanding asset allocation, and how to manage and rebalance a portfolio would help a lot.
