Seedance/ Jimeng App Instructions?
@Julie Li - do you use the Jimeng App? I'm having a great time playing with it, but do you know if there is a guide/tutorial on how to use it? I would like to add additional cameo characters if possible. I tried adding my wife, but all it did was replace me with her 😅 Maybe I'll make some funny kungfu videos with her as the star until I change myself back. Time to go study some Michelle Yeoh movies!

How Strict Are the Guardrails on Jimeng for Seedance 2.0?
Hi @Julie Li - Are you able to tell us anything about what's going on with Seedance 2.0 from the other side of "The Great Digital Wall?" I was finally starting to figure things out while in the middle of a video project about Bruce Lee when I could no longer use Seedance 2.0 on my Jimeng account. Everyone outside of China gets "Network Error, Generation failed" when they try to use it. I had to use a 3rd party app to complete my project, but lots of people are saying it's my BEST Bruce Lee video. All I am hearing from people accessing through 3rd party sites, and some claiming to be in Dreamina's Closed Beta program, is that it's impossible to use; guardrails are too strict; and that "the Hollywood studios have ruined Seedance." Personally I wouldn't care if people could no longer make videos of Brad Pitt fighting Tom Cruise as long as I can still create scenes for my documentaries on Kungfu movies and create my own Wuxia scenes! So my question is if things are actually that strict on Jimeng right now? On the Jimeng app I see people making all kinds of scenes inspired by "Kungfu Hustle," Bruce Lee's "Fist of Fury." Someone created a short based on the bar/tavern fight scene in "Come Drink with Me," so it has me wondering if people in the West are just overreacting?

@Julie Li I meant I can no longer use Seedance on the Jimeng site. Some people were using fake Hong Kong phone numbers. I simply used my phone number here in Thailand. After February 21, Seedance stopped working. I think I even get an error if I try using Seedance 1.5 For my Bruce Lee project, I was using a 3x4 (12 frame) storyboard and then I also had an attached character sheet of other people in the video. For some reason if I had my "Bruce Lee" character (I had someone who looked very close) I got an error sometimes...sometimes it worked. I had to be prepared to test both ways. I'm not sure why, but the 3rd party site I was using (these sites are really just giving people access through premium accounts) seemed to allow me to create things that I sometimes could not get using the Jimeng site, but I can't say for sure. The most interesting videos I made with 3rd party sites came after I could no longer use Jimeng. Even on those sites, things are no longer working like they did 10 days ago. I had some workarounds, like using cartoon images in place of a real person, but lately those tricks are not working at all. I hope things get resolved soon. Even if my Jimeng account is off limits (for some reason I can still play around on the app), I'd like to use the Dreamina (global) site. I really hope they relax the guardrails, or allow sites with legitimate API access a bit of leniency. I'm sure the 3rd party sites hope the delay lasts a bit longer as they are charging up to 10x what it costs to use Jimeng & Dreamina to generate videos! 😵

@Julie Li - yes, this is what happens if I try to generate a video. Last night someone showed the proposed prices for API access, so maybe a global release is around the corner. Who knows? I have to start working on my next documentary on Steven Seagal. I don't think I will need to use Seedance 2.0 for this project. I will probably use Kling 3.0, Grok Imagine, and Wan for any AI generated B-roll video. It's going to take 3-4 weeks for me to complete this video, so maybe Seedance 2.0 will be released by the time I finish this project! Hope you are doing well

Hello- From Nashville, TN, but I've actually been living in Thailand (just south of Bangkok) for the last 6 years. I started messing around with Midjourney weeks after my daughter was born 3 years ago, and I just kept going from there. Currently, my favorite tool is Seedance 2.0! It's so amazing! The tool I probably use the most was Nano Banana Pro, now Nano Banana 2. I'm finding that I'm enjoying Seedream 4.5 a lot for some animation projects I hope to start soon.

@Julie Li We were actually in Bangkok from Dec 26 until Jan 3. We may have been passing right by each other! 😅
