Welcome!
How long have you been foiling for? What do you need most help with?

I started foiling two years ago, with the wing. I learned windsurfing as a kid, so winging felt natural. As I live inland Europe (2 hours from sea) I got a foil for pumping and I am learning that in parallel to everything else 😅. I do some flatwater sup practice and when I get some free time to go to the seaside I learn to freewing and downwind with the paddle. The paddle bit, which I enjoy most, is for me the hardest as I have no solid base in foiling :) As frustrating and hard as it is I come back and want more :D My main focus for now is getting as much foil time as possible, regardless if it is pump foiling, flatwater , winging or downwind floating ;) Just for entertainment I am sending a video of me the very first time pump foiling with my dw board :) Later I got a proper pump board..
What is your favorite foil and why?
Aloha team, I’ve been doing a lot of R&D with different foils lately, and realize the fastest foil is not necessarily everyone's first choice to ride downwind. I’m curious what you all think, what foil do you enjoy most for downwinding, and why? Is it glide, control, climb, low end - top end range, turning, or something else that makes it your favorite? Stoked to hear your thoughts :)

As I am a beginner, I am on a big Gong Sirus XL at 136cm wingspan, 1700cm2 area and 10,9AR. It is a foil for pumping, quite thick 0,9 inch and slow. I ride it for winging and pumping and sup foil (learning). We have mainly windswell (short fetch) with short period and steep faces. It is my only foil so I make it work in all situations from pumping to 30kn winging 😅

@Edoardo Tanas great advice! It is very useful for me too as I am in a similar stage of my journey. I usually start to pump my legs too early aswell :) and run out of gass quick 😅
Member Video Analysis #1
In this video I analyze this week’s member submissions and break down key areas for improvement. Topics include reaching further forward to increase stroke range, shortening paddle length to improve cadence and power, finding the optimal mast position on the board tracks, continuing to paddle longer through the pop up, and synchronizing paddling and pumping to maximize power and torque.

Thanks Edo! Will try the suggestions next time on the flat! In the bumps it's still too much survival mode for me to think about technique 😅
