KubeQuest and how it made my most productive week yet
In my learning journey, I never used to place much emphasis on setting weekly goals. This time I did, and it changed the trajectory of how I learned. For the week of December 1 to December 7, I defined three goals that I wanted to complete. Having a clear structure kept me organized and significantly improved my efficiency. 1. Finish the Ansible series I had started 2. Extend my homelab by repairing a laptop last booted in 2020 3. Install Talos on the newly fixed laptop These focused goals prevented me from jumping between unrelated tasks and helped me make more progress in one week than I would typically make in a month. I achieved all three goals and even went further. I set up a multi node Kubernetes cluster in my homelab, enabled secure remote access to my Talos cluster from any network using Tailscale, and documented the process in a blog while exploring how Tailscale functions underneath. I encourage everyone in this community to take part in KubeQuest and experience how much your productivity improves when you commit to specific weekly objectives. Thank you @Mischa van den Burg , @Stefan Van den berg and the entire KubeCraft community for this initiative.

@Stephane Zi Just participate in the KubeQuest and you get the entire community as your accountability partner. Structure work > Distributed / Unstructured work (try keeping 3 of the must do's and work on them.) If you keep doing this for some time, the potential is endless man. Let's smash this week.

@Stephane Zi this is the link for KubeQuest https://www.skool.com/mischa/new-kubequest. It happens every week and members from KubeCraft community set 3 goals that they want to accomplish. If you will read the post you will surely understand. If you have any questions you can ask me here or message @Stefan Van den berg , he will assist you.
weekly goal update -- day 1
(see my weekly goal below) I realized I can connect the dots here. Spinnaker needs to be installed on a Debian or Ubuntu VM for the standalone option. I need a lab where I compare deployment options and migration/backup scenarios thereof. So I installed VirtualBox and created a Debian VM, started working on Spinnaker baseline setup. Meanwhile, Spinnaker actually needs deployment targets, as a Continuous Deployment tool. Kubernetes is one of the options, so I connected Mischa's first day instructions from the free "7-day Kubernetes quickstart" right at this point and installed Rancher Desktop. This way, I have a Spinnaker and a deployment target ready, while I'm working on both of my projects ... -- 2025.12.14. }} ๐ŸŽฏGoal 1: Join Mischa's free Kubernetes course and post about it on LinkedIn. Get a community aspect going somehow, eg. creating a project other people can join. ๐ŸŽฏGoal 2: Build a Spinnaker lab that I need for my day job, and post about it on LinkedIn. ๐ŸŽฏGoal 3: Get 30 likes on LinkedIn altogether, during this week's time period. -- PS, you have read this much of my rambling so it seems you care :D ... please, if you have ideas what to post about exactly, what aspects, what format, style ...etc., either here or on LinkedIn, please comment. You can make it about yourself, eg. your specific project adaptation of these or any challenges you have ...etc. Thanks

One suggestion would be to write blogs if you aren't doing it yet. And to create notes in your own words, don't focus on creating big notes but small ones with important details/logic. I am trying to do the same now and about your 3rd goal don't focus on likes, even if you get 0 likes keep pushing good quality post rather than the ones that farm engagement (quality > quantity).

Good afternoon Crafters! Last week @Pragalva Sapkota showed exactly what happens when you use KubeQuest the way itโ€™s meant to be used. You can check his post here He set three clear goals, stayed focused, and made more progress in one week than he normally would in a month ๐ŸŒŸ This is the power of direction and consistency. Thanks for the example and commitment, @Pragalva Sapkota . I wanted to make use of the resources I had for my home lab but mind you this laptop wasn't booted from 2019, had a broken screen and what not. It took me good 3 days to fix and install Talos in it. Also finished ansible series that i started a month ago. This week has been the most productive I have been in a while
Home Lab Update
Hey guys,Iโ€™ve been setting up my homelab with Proxmox on a Dell Optiplex (i5-6500TE, 8GB RAM). While learning Ansible with 1 master and 2 worker nodes, I ran into issues like RAM maxing out, VMs freezing, and SSH dropping. I tried fixing it by limiting each VMโ€™s RAM to 1GB, enabling ballooning, and adding a swapfile to the host. Anyone faced similar issues on low-RAM Proxmox setups? How did you solve it?

@Marcos Menezes I am not running proxmox inside a VM. It's running as a baremetal hypervisor but i had some issues due to ram fatigues i guess
