The Power of a Skunk 🦨
Yep - you read that one right… We woke up this morning to the smell of a skunk. My husband reached over and said, “Jen - do you smell that?!” And comically enough, I got excited because our skunk friend is back! (I had totally forgotten about their mating season, which threw us for a loop last year when we couldn’t understand why it kept showing up in our fenced backyard… but here we are again.) Our windows aren’t open, so you can imagine how strong the scent is. That, and I have a sensitive nose. My mind immediately started running through possibilities - was she in our backyard area (it’s fenced but if neighborhood cats can slide in, then a skunk possibly could). Was she startled by our neighborhood cat, SmokeDog, who likes to come up to the window and say hello to my two indoor cats? Or are they just in the backyard foraging for something? We don’t have much to offer other than bird seed. Regardless, I felt like it was time to look into the skunk and learn more about its spiritual connection. Check out these pics for more info, including the root chakra connection, themes of self-reliance, self-defense, and awareness. Sometimes a skunk appearance can be a reminder to step into your own power. Any animal hellos coming in for you over the last few days?

@Jennie Sikes 😁 is there a protocol to remove a smell like that? Especially with a sensitive nose!
Getting to Know You 🤩
What better way to get to know each other better than sharing what’s on your bedside table! Night stand for our friends in the US 😁 You can tell A LOT by what someone has in their bedside table, so share away! Give us an opportunity to get to know you better! Don’t be shy, this is your space to say ‘Yes, I have 15 unread books’ or ‘Yes, I do have empty chocolate wrappers piling up’ 🤣 This is a judgement free zone! The ONLY rule here is ‘be kind and encouraging’ 🥰

Wow, love this idea! Everyone’s is so tidy 😆 I’m away at the moment but from memory I will have - Water bottle - Lip balm - Headphones - Lumenate nova eye mask which is a new mediation tool I’m trying based on flickering lights - very surreal ! - Lots of paw balm and creams for joeys paws (For his dermatitis)

@Jennie Sikes @Stephanie Pick I shall report back! There’s a free version you can do using your phone through their app https://lumenate.co/ (Due to the flickering lights, not suitable for those with epilepsy)
Pi Day Curiosity Post
Today is Pi Day (3.14), celebrating the mathematical constant π connected to circles. Full transparency - math has never really been my thing. I tend to get lost in it pretty quickly. 😄 So I asked ChatGPT whether Pi Day could have any connection to spirituality. The interesting piece was this: π is an infinite number that never repeats, and it exists because of the circle. Across many cultures, the circle has symbolized unity, wholeness, cycles of life, and eternity. It made me wonder about the bigger picture… the patterns in nature, sacred geometry, and the possibility that math is one of the languages describing how the universe is structured. (I hate math but love patterns and nature for sure - so do I really hate math or just don’t understand it?) Since math is definitely outside my wheelhouse, I’m curious to hear from others on this topic and feel free to teach me more about Pi! Have you ever come across connections between math, sacred geometry, nature, or spirituality?

I love this topic and there’s so much to learn! I too struggle with maths (and science) but I love that AI can now help simplify complex ideas for us to understand and there’s no judgement with whatever questions we ask :) My favourite example of the intersection between science and spirituality is the double slit experiment. My mind was blown when I came across this video years ago: https://youtu.be/Q1YqgPAtzho?si=8OXS9UWmOBy-O2eU In very simple terms, scientists discovered something fascinating: when no one is observing, tiny particles behave like waves and create a beautiful pattern. But when someone measures or observes them, they behave differently. For me the takeaway was quite spiritual… the act of observing can influence reality. It made me think about how awareness, attention, and consciousness might play a bigger role in shaping the world than we usually realise. Over time, I went from feeling that ‘life just happens to me’, to deeply believing that the way I look at things, focus on things, and respond to things actually shapes what happens next. I found the spiritual meaning empowering, even if I couldn’t understand the full science behind it!
Friday the 13th: Make Your Own Luck 🍀
Friday the 13th gets a bad reputation, but in many traditions the number 13 represents transformation, renewal, and powerful feminine energy. It’s actually a beautiful reminder that the energy of any day reflects what we bring to it. If you approach it with curiosity, gratitude, and intention, it can become a day of luck, insight, and opportunity. Like most things in life, you tend to receive the energy you invest - so why not make today a lucky one? How do you feel about Friday the 13th?
